The current 45W power level is already in a sweet space, just an hour away to charge the phone completely. Nevertheless, when you need to bring the phone back from the edge, this extra promotion will undoubtedly work. When you are in a hurry, more juice is always welcomed in less minutes.
And still, I feel a sting of hesitation-a fast-charging galaxy S26 ultra leaves me with many questions I want.

Before you ask, I’m not bothered by long -term battery precision implications. Samsung has historically played it safe with compensation temperature. My biggest concern with Samsung is to go to the highest power level that it may require another plug. Yes, you already have 100W charging bricks ready and are waiting at your desk, but as we know, charging is a mess of standards and compatibility issues. Even today’s high -power plugs are not guaranteed to work.
Currently, Samsung Galaxy uses USB power delivery PSS to reach the Galaxy 45W, which is excellent because it is a global ended standard that is also rapidly common in the cheaper USB-C adapter and power banks. It uses one of the two electrical combinations: 9V/4.5A or 14V/3A.
Thankfully, the PSS is designed for scaleable voltage, in which the handsets get many more options for fast charging. However, the plugs usually come in one of the three options for PPS voltage: 11V, 16V, or 21V. If the brands are very strict, it can cause trouble. For example, for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, it requires 20V PPS plugs to target a much minor 37W power level.
Samsung is unlikely to use 9V-11V charging to kill 60W, as it will be more than 6A-which requires a special USB-C cable instead. High streams also lead to a reduction in voltage in cables, making them less efficient than a high voltage solution.
It would be great to charge 60W, but you will need a new wall plug.
Samsung can only enable this mode to 14V plugs and pull about 4.3A – almost the same peak recently developed by the S25 ultra. This will still require proper cable, but 5 A cables are now quite common. As an alternative, Samsung can reach close to 20V and further reduce the current.
In any case, the drawback is that plugs support these high PPS voltage and current levels are less common, especially those who meet the need for 21V. Although today’s best wall chargers can strengthen this setup, many old plugs, including some of the official accessories of Samsung, are not equipped with equipped. That said, Samsung offers 65W adapters in selected markets.
Good news? Samsung will almost certainly maintain 45W charging support, ie the current plugs will still charge the new ultra quickly – not just in full 60W. This is a fair agreement for people who do not want to buy any other plug yet.
What about the rest of the Galaxy S26 series?

60W is great for ultra, but our biggest grip about galaxy charging has not been with the top-tear model-this is the slightest 25W capacity of the little Galaxy S25, which is real damage. It takes about 80 minutes to fill its small battery and feels slower than 55 minutes of S25 ultra.
The worse thing is that Samsung’s budget galaxy A56 5G now offers 45W charging, and the same galaxy is allegedly coming to the S25 FE. This is an obligatory upgrade that really needs to be included in all Samsung’s flagship phones this year, not just a big, more expensive model.
It is certainly considered to play Galaxy S26 Pro 45W charging?
Interestingly, Samsung is seen digging regular and plus models, the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra Products move. This is a bold change, and Pro should take the most faster than the Samsung budget offerings, if not faster then the maximum compensation. If this is not the case, it will be a very strange state. Edge’s thin form factor can limit it to 25W, but the pro should take the best plus – ideally, including its ability to charge – and it falls into some other pockets.
If the Samsung Galaxy provides 45W and 60W Universal charging for the G -Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 ultra, it will be a huge win to facilitate the charging. It will also eliminate one of the rest of our complaints about the series and will put pressure on Apple and Google that when it comes to charging tech, it is minimal.
Samsung, don’t mess it up.
