We’re approaching the iPhone 17 launch (seriously, how did it happen so fast? I swear that I just finished writing about iPhone 16). But once again, when I scroll through all the leakage and rumors … I really don’t feel excited for the phones.
But regularly IPhone 17? It doesn’t look so interesting to me. Once again

And still – I’m excited and this is the software that is stealing my attention this time.

I am more hypected iOS 26 Compared to IPhone 17

Most leaks and rumors are usually about hardware. New colors! Sleep Beles! Camera! Titanium! But what is often overlooked in the hype cycle is the second big thing that comes with every new iPhone: a fresh version of iOS. And this year, it means iOS 26.

Apple had already given us a new update preview earlier this year, and if you are brave enough to try it, then the public is out in a public son. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for it IPhone 17 Launch for a steady release.
And iOS 26 Bringing a lot. One of the biggest changes is the new design language called liquid glass. If you follow Apple News exactly, you may have heard about it. It is a clever, dynamic UI of Apple that plays with light, transparency and movement so that everything can be shaped like a future glass. Think about reflecting, reacting, and shining.

Now, of course, not everyone is loving it. There has been some very real criticism about the ability to read, which is true. But it looks like Apple is listening to and dialing it a bit before the original preview. So I am stopping to decide the eyes until we get a final construction. Let’s just see how things come down when dust is settled.

It’s not all about the tricks – it’s also about utility

Although Apple has been slow to develop more advanced AI features – and I think it’s still behind Google and Samsung – this latest update actually brings useful tools. And that’s why I am excited. Finally, we are finding features that do not fall into the AI trick category.

You know this type of: genimos or tools that allow you to change the sky in your picture or convert yourself into a mathematical. Sorry people, but use AI for such goods? Why don’t I like tech

There is already much more than enough fake content. Do we really need tech companies that make it easier to blur the line between real and not? At this point, you cannot scroll via rails or see nothing without thinking whether it is legal or AI-Infanted nonsense. But hey – it’s a rent for another time.

Return iOS 26. It may be in fact the refreshing that turns me into IPhone 17. I’m still using my iPhone 13 mini, and when it will be found iOS 26 – Just as every model returns to iPhone 11 – it will not support Apple Intelligence.

And as I said, while some AI things still feel tricks, iOS 26 Also bringing a real useful feature. Which one do i have the most interested? Large upgrade in visual intelligence.

Apple Intelligence So far there has been a type of hit or miss (okay, mostly miss), but the visual intelligence looks like something I really use. Android phones have similar tools for a while now – Google Lens, Circle to find, and others – and now iOS users are finally getting something at this level.

And it’s not just about identifying your camera on things. In the visual intelligence iOS 26 It also works with what you have on the screen. So if you take a screenshot, you can highlight the text and find it (mainly Apple’s Circle to Search Search version), ask Chat GPT for more information, or even remove the event details and add to your calendar.

You can also find the whole picture directly – just like with Google Lens. It is easy, fast and in fact useful.

Then there is the latest phone app, which now uses AI for screen calls. Finally, more spam calls, scam calls, or weirdly do not decrease in that is a person in your past who will not just take a hint. This is exactly what I want to do – save me time and energy, do not pull my cartoon riding a unicorn through space. There, I said this.

However, I will give credit where it is owed – there are some creative AI features that are really very good. Apple secretly hid in a creative feature. You can convert your regular images into a 3D, which makes something really cool with depth effects. Clocks and widgets slip behind objects for this layered shape. It’s not fake, it’s just fun.

Oh, and the offline directly translated? Yes, please iOS 26 Finally it brings it and it is one of the features that just makes sense – especially when you travel a lot.

Directly translated is one of the features for which I envy a little from Android users. | Photo by Apple

So yes, this time, this is not a hardware that is luring me to upgrade – this is the software. And honestly, I think many of you can feel the same. If you’ve got one IPhone 16 Or one of the iPhone 15 Pro model, you will still have full experience, so maybe there is no need. But for all of us? Some of these features are just out of reach … and they are really attractive.
What do you think about? Is the software enough to consider upgrading you? Or do hardware changes must also be bigger? Tell me in comments – I would love to hear what is the most important thing for you.
