I rarely test the same car more than once a calendar year. However, I gave an exception for the 2025 Honda Civic because my early week’s long examination earlier this year did not produce the results I expected.
As a hybrid, the citizen had to get a joint fuel economy of 49 MPG. Instead, this disappointing 36.2 MPG came short – so I decided to borrow it again to see if the change in the scenes could make any difference.
I am glad I did this because after running the Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid for a week, the cost of the start of 30,150 makes it more capable than any of the best electric cars I have experienced. This is all my profession and favorable.

2025 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid: Test Summary
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
What does the weather change matter because this time Civic Hybrid exceeded my expectations about its fuel economy. In my weekly valuable testing, a total of 248.5 miles run, 2025 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid has achieved an average of 48.1 MPG’s average fuel economy compared to 36.2 MPG, compared to my previous test.
This is a huge difference that I attribute the climate change because clearly the summer hot weather forces the urban hybrid to reach its EPA estimate claims. Second, I’m running a hatchback version of Civic Hybrid instead of a sports touring version-both trims have offered 200 HP performance with their 2.0 liter hybrid engines.
How to drive a hybrid car is definitely an art because in a handful of events, I was gaining a better fuel economy than its rating. For example, a short distance drive on most local and county roads achieved a 63.1 MPG fuel economy. This is due to lenders because if I wanted to maintain it in some way, it results in a range of 668 miles.
So far, this Honda Civic Hachback has defeated every other hybrid car that I have tested this year – such as Hyundi Elentra Hybrid and Toyota Camera Hybrid.

2025 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid: What do I like
Outstanding fuel economy
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
I complain about how most of the electrical cars are expensive, which is why I always recommend thinking about getting hybrid. With a 48.1 MPG combined average, I got 2025 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Backback running for a week, this is a way to help you reduce gas prices.
Yes, you can save more from your pocket by going with the non-hybrid version of the Civic-which starts at a cost of $ 24,595-but I tell you that you will get long-term with the hybrid model.
No work promise performances
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
At the same time, I am very happy that the Civic Sports Hatchback Backback does not compromise on hybrid power. In fact, its 200 HP performance provides excellent action for a hybrid. Getting a cruise speed from a dead stop does not feel that the engine has to work on the over drive to achieve it.
I did not think it would be accountable, but I get urban fun in driving. Certainly, this is not so sensational than Hyundai Elentra Ann, which is a sporty seedan that is specially ready for driving performance. Instead, I will choose the balance of Civic with its strong driving performance, minor prices and excellent fuel economy.
The additional utility of hatchback
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
If you look at the pictures of Civic Sport Touring Hybrids from the beginning of this year, you will see how different it is from this term. The reason for this is that it is a hatchback, and at the same time there is the extra usefulness of being able to fit more difficult things in the car.
Thankfully the design remains almost the same, except the hatch that rotates in the back. I had no problem in throwing my Jackerbate OG2 Pro Micro Ebek into the trunk, which I couldn’t do with another trim.
Smooth Inclusive Cruise Control
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
In some vehicles, adaptive cruise control is often available in the optional package, so I am happy that it comes standard with Civic Sports Hachback Hybrid. It works like other cars I have used, in the sense that it manages to keep focus, brakes and focus on me in my lane.
Whenever I try to use cruise control, especially on the highway when it does a reasonable task of detecting other cars that enter and enter my lane. In the upper part, when it is trying to reach the speed of cruise control, it is not much generous with acceleration.
2025 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid: What I don’t like
The outdated interface
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
Just like before, I can’t get more than the Antiques of use of Honda Civic with a 9 -inch main dashboard display. This is certainly a long -lasting Long Long, which makes it feel that I am interacting with the car of the 90s or something else.
However, the savings grace is that it supports the carplay and Android auto with the wired USB connection.
Manual seats
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
In 2025, the manual seats are only wrong, but they are still present. Although bucket seats are comfortable in the Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid, I cannot overcome the fact that they are manual seats.
If it was only a passenger seat, I would forgive a little more, but it is difficult to believe that the driver’s seat is also a physical matter.
Low -quality backup camera
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
Similarly, the backup camera offers a low quality form as before. Although it works to evacuate me from the hard places of the parking lot, the quality looks like a camera phone for the past decade with its soft and vague appearance.
Hard league room in the back
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
Although Palki can sit for five people, the passengers behind you can feel the same due to a small amount of league room. You can comfortably adjust children, but adults will have to challenge the hard league room challenging long drives.
2025 Honda Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid: Down Line
(Image Credit: Tom’s Guide / John Velasco)
2025 I didn’t like most things about Honda Civic Sport Hitchback Hybrid that I don’t want to break the big deal in my opinion, especially when you see how most people can afford the best fuel economy with a slight price.
In fact, it is meaningless to argue how hybrid vehicles are under power. The Civic Sports Hatchback Hybrid not only offers a entertainment drive in support of a strong acceleration, but also its 48 MPG joint fuel economy operates at the point that you should not just set on any gas -powered vehicle. You want to get the least gas hybrid and the Civic Sport Hatchback Hybrid is a worthy, especially when it supports the Honda reliability.
