Google seems to be preparing for a small but potentially helpful change for a special song detection device with its pixel, which is now going on. According to a new APK error, the company is quietly working to further this feature through a dedicated app icon in the app drawer.
Now playing, which has been an important place of Pixel phones since the Pixel 2 series, works automatically in the background to identify the singing songs nearby. It saves this information locally and gives users to evaluate the history of recognized songs. But this feature has mostly lost its initial hype, and Google may want to change it.
In the latest Android 16 Canary Blood’s APK Tears, it was found that playing can soon get its stand icon in the app drawer. The icon is disabled as a default for now, but it can be manually activated in test bloods. When tapped, it takes users to a familiarity with the Android System Intelligence app playing a history screen.

This is the same screen that users can already reach through the home screen widgets or settings menu, so no new functionality can be added yet. However, adding a shortcut to the app drawer can help more and more people discover and use this feature. It is also worth noting that other updates can be on the way. It seems that Google is now experiencing new Quick Settings with shortcut and lock screen integration for the game, as well as the ability to show album art for recognized songs.
It is unclear why Google has decided to remove this feature more significantly, but it may be worth using. Although many pixel users are now aware of the detection of playing songs, some will not know that there is no date page in it, leave how to access it. A dedicated app icon solves this problem, making it easier to find and use the feature.
At this point, there is no sign that Google is now planning to extend non -pixel devices. This feature remains special for pixel phones, and the latest Android code does not suggest that it is changing at any time.
Nevertheless, the current pixel users this, this little adaptation can make a meaningful difference in how many times they use this feature. Now I’m just waiting for Google to do the same with the password manager, which can only be added to the home screen as a shortcut, and there is no way to easily access the app.
