Alibaba’s Kevin team released a new artificial intelligence (AI) coding model on Tuesday. Dubbed 3 coders, the model comes with the capabilities of several agents, including agent coding, agent browser use, and agent tool use. Researchers have just released only one form of the model, QWEN3-480b-A35b-Instruct, the most powerful type in the family. In terms of performance in coding, Alibaba’s AI team claims that the open source model is compared to the Claude Swant 4 model of Anthropic. The new larger language model (LLM) is available to download locally.

In a blog post, researchers described the new agent coding tool in detail. Available in Open Source, interesting people can download the weight from Kevin’s hugs list and gut hub listings. The model is available with a legitimate Apache 2.0 license that allows both educational and commercial use. Along with the model, an open source command line tool is also available for agent coding.
The model is coming, the Kevin 3 coder is a compound (MOE) model with 480 billion parameters. Of this, the model works with 35 billion active parameters and the length of the context with 2,56,000 tokens. The context window can be extended to one million tokens using extremitation methods. Researchers highlight that the model agent supports coding, agent browser use, and agent tool use.
The company claims that Kevin 3 coder achieved the latest (SOTA) between the SWE Benchmarks on the certified benchmark among the open source models. Here, Sota refers to the most score that was previously unacceptable by another model. The Kevin team said that the score was achieved using Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure to create a scaleable system that could run in parallel 20,000 independent environment.
To enable the agent coding, the team has also released the Queen Code Command Line Toll. Made from the Gemini code, it is equipped with customs prompts and function calling protocols. This utility not only allows the AI model to write and edit the code, but also allow it to be deployed and implemented in the integrated development environment (IDE).
Although the Kevin Code supports the Kevin 3 Coder AI model locally, it can also be connected with the Open II software development kit (SDK) when calling LLMS. On the other hand, the Kevin coding model can also be used with the cloud code. But the developers will need to request an API key on the Alibaba Cloud Model Studio platform.
