I am trying to use a new candy bar flagship phone as a daily driver because otherwise the extraordinary Vivo X -Fold 3 Pro was bored slightly from the Pro, and my eyes were placed on a device that I had really reviewed a few months ago but had forgotten about it.

However, as much as I want to pop in my SIM card inside this device and call it one day in the rest of the summer, Grammelins lifted their heads again.

The phone is Oppo Find X8 Ultra, and the reason for my problems is the Chinese version of the Kalros software on the board, and all the complicated matters associated with it.

Hardware that has been cut above the rest

Well, I let you talk through my thinking process as to why the prohibited Oppo fruit looks so cute but the tree rises above height.

When it comes to hardware, I stand with my words that no other phone is good. It has Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is one of the best mobile chip sets right now, and it is a controversial requirement when you want a proper flagship in 2025. Up to 12GB of 2 GB Ram and up to 12GB of virtual memory, it is able to meet any multi -tasking requirements.

More importantly, however, the only beautiful camera setup in the back section. The OPPO has proud of the quad 50 MP camera in the previous section, which has a short 3.0x telephone and a long 6.0x parasope zoom, but the key number here is the size of the sensor behind the main camera. It is a 1 -inch sensor, which puts the phone in a special club with an extraordinary large camera sensor phone. Obviously, a very charming hardware feature that I would definitely like to keep on the deck!

After that, the extra large 6,100mAh battery, which helps the OPPO find the X8 ultra, which we have tested so far have searched itself in the top three in terms of battery life in 2025 phones. With about nine hours of battery estimates, it is far ahead of our customs tests in our customs tests, save from Vivo X200 Ultra.

Now, some may argue that Vivo X200 is a high tool technically, and I certainly agree with a point, but a combination between amazing camera, battery life, and performance is better to find the X8 ultra in our tests. If you want to squeeze the best price in any 2025 ultra flagship, it makes it a logical choice.

And the rest of the package is also the best! We get highly decent stereo speakers, a very bright OLED screen, precise and strong hipper feedback, IP69 water and dust resistance, and a capacito camera button that is in fact useful.

However, this is the place where the hardware’s happiness ends and the software dream begins.

OPO Find X 8 Ultra I have seen the best camera

    Software nightmares

Look, I really wanted to use the OPPO X8 ultra. I thought I was completely aware of all these sacrifices when I had to deal with a phone for the internal Chinese market.

I was ready to leave the Google Discovery panel on the left side of the home screen, I was fine with losing the circular to find, and I was ready to separate methods as a default sound assistant with Gemini. Similarly, I was ready to install whatever I can mentally, and ready to suppress the interface.

After that, I migrated all my data with Oppo’s easy phone clone app and went through the painful process of customizing all accounts and apps, home screen layouts and all other phone settings, and then started matters.

First of all, though there was no clear problem with my SIM card, Oppo Find X8 Ultra would only get half of all the messages I had to receive.

How can I know that? Well, I didn’t get 2 FAs for half the apps I use, and the worst thing is that those apps are banking and messaging. Telegram, which is an essential app for me, does not allow me to be logged because I never came to get the SMS code. And while Google Pay apparently works right on this phone, the app does not allow me to add just a specific credit card, which is another important contract.

My misfortune muscle memory always seemed that Breno assistant was mobilized on the phone with the power button. Someone may think that the working button must be downloaded to the mapper and manually to enable Gemini with a power button instead of the stock Chinese AI assistant, yet the apps I tried do not work reliably. The system just doesn’t let me do what I wanted.

The same applies to the stock launcher. Although Android launchers really fell with nothing interesting on this scene over the past few years, I tried to run the Oppo Find X8 Ultra on the OPO OLOOONA Launcher, and see, Chloros once again showed his teeth and put a stick in his wheel. I had to go through some crazy hips so that he could set the customs Android launcher as a default, and whenever I swipe to go to the home screen, the phone was deliberately lagging behind for two seconds.

While I am not a quarter, the combination of all these software issues has regretted the fate of this phone as my daily driver.

    Conclusion

That is why I cannot recommend the OPPO to find the X8 ultra, though its hardware is very perfect.

You may have a good experience with the phone designed for the internal Chinese market. Some of you certainly have the skills to evacuate all the interface disabled and replace a phone that has never been destined to reach the Western markets to reach the device.

My great, Oppo never received the global release to the X8 ultra, so whatever you do, or I do, it will never work 100 % outside China.

Alternatively? Of all the ultra phones released so far in 2025, only Xiaomi 15 Ultra received a global release, but it was ruined with a small battery, which is not ideal on combining the horrific battery correction of Hypers 2. Vivo X200 Ultra is beyond this question, because it is also special to China. The thing you have left is the Galaxy S25 ultra, which is bleeding, and you have to deal with the rates of a UI 7.
