The smartphone industry has been going through a brutal megapixel battle over the past few years, which has jumped on 48MP, 50MP, 64MP, and 108MP camera. After that, the companies increased the anti by offering 200 MP camera phones in 2022 and 2023, and since then we have been on this resolution.

Do you know that the recent flagship Android phones actually support more than 200 MPs, though? In fact, they support 320MP cameras. However, companies have not yet adopted 320MP cameras. Why is it here

Wait, my phone supports 320MP cameras?

Yes, if you have purchased a high -end Android phone in the past two years, there is an opportunity that it really supports 320MP cameras. The reason for this is that now most chipmakers have enabled 320MP support in their recent flagship processors.

The trend began with the dimensions of the Meditik from 9000, which strengthened several Android phones in 2022. Taiwan’s chipmaker presented this feature in the subsequent advanced SOC. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Acinos also supports 2400 chip 320MP cameras. The Qualcomm was late in the party and did this trend with the current Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip.

Therefore, if you have purchased a phone like One Plus 13, Samsung Galaxy S25 Series, or Vivo X200 Pro, your phone can technically use a 320MP camera. In fact, the Galaxy S24/S24 Plus, equipped with old devices such as Xinos and Vivo X 100 Pro, also support this capacity.

So why didn’t we see a 320MP camera phone?

    Robert Triggs / Android Authority

The biggest reason we have not actually seen 320MP cameras phones is that there are still 320MP smartphone camera sensors in the market from large suppliers. We have heard rumors for a while that the Samsung semiconductor has been working on the tech, but so far no announcement has been made.

The good news is that Samsung had earlier said that its ultimate purpose was to create a camera sensor that matches the resolution of the human eye (~ 600MP), so the 320MP will be a step -by -step stone to go there.

It is also worth noting that chip mechanics only offer preliminary snapshot support for 320MP cameras at this stage. This means that there are no multi -frame image processing or other advanced tricks to accelerate the final image. History already shows us that full resolution 200 MP images do not necessarily look good, so I would expect the full resolution 320MP images to be similar.

However, the fact is that these large chip makers are all set on the support of the 320MP camera.
