RG Slide Anbrick is one of the most unique devices ever, and it offers the right mix of old leisure and solid performance to be a compelling choice for retro emulsion.

Although many people are old for the flip phones, the slider is a way for me to go. Certainly, I had a basic flip phone in the early 2000s, but I really didn’t get excited about the phone until I took my first sliding phone with the full cortex keyboard in 2006. This satisfactory Thwomp Forced me to feel that whenever I text my mother to take some more Mountain Oas and Chatto, I was a secret agent.

But when PSP Go and Experia Play brought this form factor into gaming, I have not yet found. At that time, I didn’t want to overlap my gaming devices with my phone. I still don’t, but now we are the unfortunate world.

So when the Anbrick RG slide was announced, I was skeptical. Claim shells like Retrod Flip 2 were hungry for more unique form factors in the retro gaming handheld world, but can this slider overcome my past prejudices?

After inboxing the device and making it open, he is familiar Thwomp Me immediately. It was bent. Maybe the RG slide may not be perfect, but it is so excited about the future of handhelds that there are some devices in the past year.

    Large slide energy

In addition to the smart sliding mechanism, the first thing that stands about the RG slide is its size. This is surprisingly chunky. 4: 3 aspect ratio, 4.7-inch screen, and round design look like two decades ago, but the thickness reminds me of handhelds over the age of 90-as I ate AA batteries as I went through Mountain Oas.

Once I suffered an early shock, I noticed that the size actually acts in favor of it. Once I got a habit of bulk, it was amazingly comfortable to hold, and the thickness allows Intent Capico sticks with a good range. Generally controls are terrific with a soft de -pad and quiet buttons. The motivations are a lot of clicks, and the small strength and volume buttons are carefully hit by it.

There are two extra buttons, and they are found on both sides of the screen. These emulsions are the best of the hotkies, and they make it so that I never need to touch the screen. He only felt it like a gaming console and like a low Android phone.

The screen itself is beautiful. The 120 herts refresh rate is certainly exceeding the limit for such a device, but the colors and the brightness are perfect. This is not an OLED panel, but I will not have any complaints if Anbrick and other companies continue to use this screen on more devices in the future. However, this is quite exposed from the outside of the device, so I would definitely recommend using the included screen protector.

Bright and sharp screen is one of the highlights of the RG Slide.

Taking another page from the old smartphones book, it also has stereo speakers on both sides of the screen. They look very good, and the place to determine means that you will ever cover them with your palms. They actually make the RG slide a solid media viewing tool, especially the old, non -16: 9 content.

If I have a complaint about the design, that’s the screen is a bit far away. It is not worth noting when the slider is open and you are playing the game, but it is remarkable when playing the touch screen game. More in a moment.

    Sliding in high gear

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

I was initially disappointed with the UNISOC T820 chip set on the RG slide, as it seems that like a device, this unique should be a bit more powerful. T820 has been used on many inbrake devices in the past, though, and it is a solid actor for everything and includes some PS2. Don’t just expect to enjoy the Frontier Switch or PS3 Emotion.

I operated the device through my standard suit so that we are talking about what we are talking about. There is only one sequence available, which has 128GB storage and 8GB LPDR 4 X RAM. You can increase this storage through a microSD card, and sell the inbrane device with the option to add 128GB or 256GB card, which is full of objectionable legal status sports.

See the results of our tests above two retrieved devices on both sides of the RG slide in terms of price. Pocket Philip 2 is aging, but the Snapdragon is 865 SOC, and the new handheld -based Snapdragon G1 is General 2 in Pocket Classic.

The results are mixed, in most tests the RG slide between the two retrieved devices falls somewhere. The new G -One General 2 shows how cheap it is, but UNISOC T820 still blows it into GPU performance. Personally, I would love to see follow -up in the RG slide, which includes the middle -range Snapdragon G2 General 2 chip, which is ready to strengthen the next retrude flagship. Anbrick never used a snap dragon chasset in any handheld, though, never yielded.

The T820 chip set is reliable, but it is starting to show its limits.

In terms of real imitation, the RG slide handled everything I wanted. The retro system was clearly great, and is perfect for 4: 3 screen PS1, N64, and more. Unfortunately, 16: 9 system such as PSP has a beautiful heavy litter boxing feature. Ironically, I will not recommend snatching this PSP Go -shaped device to play PSP games.

Game cubes and PS2 are also worth the game, but you have to compromise. I couldn’t find all the games to play in full frames, leave. Without advanced, PS2 plays at 640 x 480, which is half of the RG slide’s 1280 x 960 IPS panel’s ancestral resolution, and it looks beautiful on a 4.7 -inch display. It is viable, but it is far from the ideal.

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

As a seedant, I abandoned my beloved ESD Frontand for this review, staying on the Homgun RG Launcher in Anbrick. My microSD card took it a bit to identify the games, but once it was setup, it was amazingly great. The console is pre -installed with many emulators (though I have changed something for the latest version), and you can choose which emulator to launch in the launcher settings.

There is a toggle in the notification shed to replace the default launcher, so you can play your game without watching the app icon. Everything is properly formed, RG slide becomes a bonfide gaming console rather than an excuse of Android phone. Even with the sliding mechanism there is an option to lock and unlock the device, which is undeniable.

Mobile first games in portraits also play well on RG slides.

The ancestral Android games do not appear in this menu, but they are also very good on this device. I usually play Android games only according to the controller on these gaming hands hand, but on this device, I also enjoyed the portrait touch screen games. When the slider is off, it looks like a chinky phone and works, so playing mobile first game like Monument Valley, Kalash Royal, or Subway Surfers did not feel strange. As mentioned above, the off -center screen is clearly notable when holding the device vertically.

Here is the last note battery life, and for most parts, 5,000 mAh sales distance goes. Depending on the settings and the system I was following, I got the battery anywhere for five to 12 hours.

The negative side is the charging speed, which is at 10W. In my testing, it took about two hours to completely charge, so don’t expect an immediate top off between matches.

Inbank RG Slide Review Decision: Is it worth it?

    Nick Fernandez / Android Authority

Although the RG slide is an interesting device, it is quite expensive. It only starts at 9 189.99 for the console, which keeps it in a strange place in terms of value. Middleing chapests and mixed PS2 emulsions sell it tightly at this price, but it is competing with the design, which is a cut above the competition.

This is a relatively new new position for Inbank. This brand is well known for innovation, but not for additional improvement in existing designs and ideas. This reputation can be an RG slide device to bend his head.

The RG slide is completely unique, which is unusual for the inbrane.

If you are looking for more performance, you have to look at a different factor of the form. Retrode Flip 2 (Manufacturer on Site 929) is an option, and it offers a lot of performance for PS2 emulsion, but it costs slightly more, starting at 929 before shipping and tax.

Otherwise, you are looking at the more standard or horizontal handhelds, which do not clearly hit like an RG slide. If you have any old memory for sliding devices like Expermia Play or PSP Go, this device can scratch this itching.

Of course, you will also wait for anbonic to work and repeat this device. If it was just a smaller and hair more powerful, it would be an absolute slim sting.
