The X -Half of Fijmal has been at the end of some flakes, in which some of the Tekadar’s Ticotok viewers are essentially labeled a high -cost plastic novelty camera.
It has some truth, even if the X half could be $ 849 launch price (9 699 / aU $ 1,349) even better than $ 150, was it not for US revenue.
Putting the price aside, I’m really enjoying an extended time with retro compact while I completely complete the review-in the meantime you can see my X-Half first impressions.
You can like
It may not be technically one of the best compact cameras, but the X half stands with a certain crowd, which has features that act as a letter of love for analog photography.
As I write this, when I first used the X -Half’s unique film roll format, and I’m still smiling about it – this is the potentially most lovely camera feature I used in years.

Digital Analog
The film has a long history of military film, one of the leading producers of 35 mm film stock. And he found a winning formula with his digital cameras X series when he introduced his ‘Film Samulation’, which helped give rise to the purchase of compact cameras, and in turn increased the price.
Now famous, this digital film imitates the original film of the Fijmal Film, the color and feeling of the stock, which can give you the form of your choice in the camera. Currently there are 20, including classic, including Valvia (Wood), Prova (standard) and acoustic (monochrome), with the options that make your own ‘recipes’ option to further customize the parasites.
With the convenience of digital, the ability to get the form of the film created many changed brand, and it certainly shows the retro retrup parts of the fuel.
The X -half -Fijfal Analog lovers take the dial and transform it to 11.
Influenced by the half frame film photography-where each vertical frame is half-size, so the number of frames you get on the 35 mm film roll doubles.
Then there is a beautiful film window, which has been screened by the selected film simulation – this is like the film’s window that you find on analog cameras. If you like the movie, those charming features are not even the best part of the X -Half, however – I am present to share my experience of his charming movie roll mode.

Roll with it
If you have a soft spot for film photography, Fijfil X Half’s movie Roll Mode is a bag full of fun.
Swipe the touch display and you can activate the mode, then you select the number of frames in the movie roll. 36, 54 or 72. Once the role begins, you have been closed in a fake form of the film – as you are using the movie role – and the back display turns directly from the view to the frame count (see the Gallery above).
Instead, the shots are left to write through the optical view Finder-this is the display through a basic look. I didn’t use the View Finder too much, though – the 28 mm F/2.8 lens of the X Half is so widespread that you can easily indicate and shoot, without taking care of more.
You can switch between auto and manual focus, add time stamp, but that’s about it. The film roll mode comes back to the camera for decades, until you use a ‘roll’ and regular refund with a direct view.
Remove the camera from the mid roll, and when you re -activate it, they will choose back where you have left it. Want to leave the mid -roll? This is also an option (and you are not really wasting the movie), though I fought this temptation.
The next frame to go into the next frame, including a ‘crank’, beautiful little little little little little little a little little little little little a little small little little little small little small a little small little little little little little little, little little small little little little little little. At all times, image playback mid roll is not available. No, seeing your pictures comes later …
Once the ‘roll’ is completed, you can wirely upload the shots to the FiFlam X Half app, where you will see your photos for the first time.

This is a digital re -concept of sending your roll to the lab for processing. Each photo is shown in the app on a contact sheet – another beautiful little touch for film photography fans like me who learned photography in the dark room.
There are a few startups working on such a basis, such as the next acne. But with its film imitation, to get such a recreational feature in the camera manufactured by Fijmal? This is a winning formula in my book.
I am not ashamed to say that when I first used the movie role format, I laughed happily, and a few days later I was still smiling about it. It also helps that the X -Half is a charming Dinky and Retro compact.
A high -price plastic novelty camera? Perhaps the last thing you call X Half is vanilla. I am for all cameras that bring smiles, and X is certainly doing so. Don’t take it too seriously, and it can win you too.
