The company announced earlier this week that Apple was formally working on supporting its fast programming language on Anderaide. Although apps for iOS and Android are generally written in Swift and Cotton, the iPhone maker’s efforts to support Swift on Android, respectively, can offer alternatives to the development of apps on Google’s operating system. Apple already supports Swift on Windows and Linux, and has established an Android work group to maintain the operating system as a Swift programming language support platform.
Swift says the membership of Android Working Group is open to all members of the community
On Thursday, Mashal Shah, a member of the Swift Corps team, announced the establishment of a Swift Android Work Group in a forum post. According to the Swift website, the Work Group will promote the use of programming language to create applications for Android. At present he has 10 members, and membership is “open to anyone who wants a partnership.”
The newly established work group will perform several tasks listed on the Swift website. These include maintaining and improving the help of Swift on Android, while working to establish a platform support level with the platform steering group, and adding support for the Android apps written using Swift.
Work Group Member Mark Parde Hemox (@Mark Prox) explained that a use of a use is the ability to produce Android and iOS apps simultaneously using a shared code base. Using a local user interface for Android and iOS, Swift can actually be used to build the entire application stack.
It is worth noting that tools like Skip are already there, and allow developers to create local apps for Android, using the same Swift and Swift Code that they use to produce their iOS apps. The service automatically produces a code for Android (and its interface) using the jet pack compos, which allows developers to perform better and “ancestral” performance on the iPhone and Android smartphones.
With Swift formally maintaining Android as an auxiliary platform, tools like Skip should be better, while developers should be very easy to produce apps for Android that were written in Swift. Developers can follow the work group’s efforts through the Swift for Android Gut Hub Roadmap, and can even contribute to the project.
