Google has spent only two weeks launching Android 16, and for most parts, this is a refreshing that came and went without too much dhoom. Since the update was released, I have been playing with Android 16 on my Pixel 9A, but until a few days ago it did not happen that I finally activated advanced protection – a new security feature that ended in the settings app.
Advanced Protection enables your phone a burden of strong security features with a switch flicker, which includes protective measures for your phone’s web browsing, network connection, and more.
Now, after using the Advanced Protection itself, I am sure that anyone who runs Android 16 with any phone needs to be able to enable it.
If you have Android 16, are you using advanced safety?

Why is the advanced safety so good?

Just from the badge, the advance protection is designed to be incredibly easy to use. In fact, you are not really much so much to communicate with the feature for you. Once an advanced safety is able, multiple safety measures for device hardware safety, apps, networks, web browsing, and phone calls are immediately activated.
A full list of safety measures, as described in Android 16, is as follows:
- Lock to detect theft: When the movement indicates theft, they automatically lock.
- Offline device lock: When your device is offline, the locks automatically.
- Reboot in passionate: Restart the device if it lasts for 3 days.
- Google Play Protect: Scan for unsafe apps and malware.
- Unknown apps: Blocking apps from unknown sources.
- Memory tagging extension: Saves memory in supported apps protect against corruption.
- 2g networks Protection: Avoid 2G networks, which are less secure.
- Android Safe browsing: Direct intimidation prevents harmful web pages.
- Chrome browsing: Before visiting non -https sites, warn you.
- JavaScript reservations: It closes some modern abilities to reduce the risk.
- Caller ID and Spam: Business and spam identifies numbers.
- Automatic call screen: Suspicious calls and dusk spam screens.
As you may probably tell this list from scheming, none of them is in fact new to Android. However, instead of creating everything individually and manually here, it is all designed for you when you turn on advanced safety.
Some features, such as Google Play Protect and Automatic Call Screens, I had already enabled my Pixel 9A. However, I was slightly afraid that some of the latest settings, especially web browsing, would be noticeable (and disturbing) daily use.
As it turns out, I didn’t see them at all. In fact, almost a week with advanced safety, I don’t feel any difference with my Pixel 9A when this feature was turned off. This means that using an Android phone with modern protection does not have to say so much, as it does not feel different from the Android phone without it.
This feature is just about the highest definition that I can protect advanced. All my apps work the same, my web browsing is no different, and my mobile data is not damaged. Literally, everything about my phone is like today as I enabled modern protection.
Looking at them all, I see no reason Not To use the feature. Even if you are not a security or privacy nut, it takes two seconds to activate the latest protection of advanced to keep your phone better safe on which you use it day by day.
How to activate modern protection in Android 16

If I have convinced you of enabling you to have advanced safety on my Android 16 device, the good news is that it is easy to find and turn this feature. To do this, just do the following:
- Open Settings app On your Android 16 device.
- Tap Security and privacy.
- Scroll down the page and tap Advanced safety.
- Tap the next toggle Protection from the device.
- Tap On What appears on the popup.
- Tap Restart Restart your device to fully activate modern protection.
And just! Once you restart your phone (either quickly or later), the latest protection is running in the background and uses all the above mentioned tools to keep your phone safe.
Advanced safety is not a particularly interesting feature. You don’t get anything new to play with it and your phone does not see or feel different. But this is a fast and easy way to enable the essential properties of safety that anyone can benefit from, and thus, I think it is also important for anyone with Android 16.
