Are you still shaking an ancient Android phone? Google has announced that Chrome 138 will be the final version of the browser to support Android 8.0 (Orio) and 9.0 (Pie). Launching Chrome 139, which is set to release on August 5, users will need Android 10 or new to get an update.

The news was shared in a post on the Google Chrome Help Forum, where a support manager confirmed that while the old versions of Chrome will still work, they will not get any new features or security patches. This puts some elderly Android phones in a difficult place.

This includes phones like Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which launched on Android 7 and eliminated their software support on Android 9. This is the Galaxy Note 8, one and a popular tool that did not jump into Android 10. No one can still be left behind, but can be left behind.
