I am particularly feeling very old memories for older camera phones. Last month, I praised the Nokia 9 Purewave for its unique camera setup, which makes each shot an adventure. I have also reviewed the LG G4, a phone that has given rise to my love for photography. However, there is another old Android camera phone that I still do.

In its prime minister, Huawei P30 Pro could buy the best Android phone money. Certainly, it’s just my opinion, but many evidence supports it. It was sustainable and relatively Compt compact compared to today’s phones. It had an easy and attractive style, sharp performance and excellent battery life.

Five years after my loyal Daily Driver, his age began to appear. Battery health was decreasing, and I received its last update in mid -2023. It is still stuck on Android 10, and there is no hope of a new version or security upgrade of software.

How important is the smartphone camera zoom performance to you?

I just consider the zoom -performing phone.

I had to be upgraded despite hesitation. The phone was Samsung Galaxy S24 to fill this void. The 2024 fan edition of the phone was positive, and my experience has been so solid. Despite poor battery life, minor display, and heavy influence, this is a worthy upgrade that will be helped for years. I also have a pixel 8, which I like for its small size and high -speed operation.

The important thing is that both devices are capable of pocket cameras on their own. I have endured to capture street scenes and scenes with Pixel 8, while the Galaxy family and the Point and Shoot for friends are taking the lead as a portrait camera. However, both phones are left behind in an important aspect of P30 Pro: zoom.

A parasop camera that’s good as before

It may be half a decade older than Samsung and Google phones that I replaced, but Huawei still improves both, and grabs more tours and brings them close to me. On the paper, the 8MP 5x optical and 50x digital paraspse lens seems modest and old, but when the phone is not reaching, I miss it very much.

This feeling was especially clear during the recent road trip. I usually toss some phone in my bag before adventures, and this time I brought the galaxy, Pixel and Purewave. Most of the tour, after just capturing the ground -level articles, I turned my theory to the top of the building where a repeater was tested. I caught Samsung – the only phone with a dedicated zoom lens – and zoom. Despite its 3x optical and 30x digital zoom, the phone can’t bring me closer to my avenue article. It soon flew, and I was sorry to leave the P30 Pro at home.

It may be half a decade older than Samsung and Google phones, which I replaced, but the P30 Pro still takes both zooms out.

Spending less time with the P30 Pro makes me realize how important parasopa is for me on a smartphone, not just for photography. The capture of remote, inaccessible animals or hard shots of plants increases the possibility of birds or plants identifying the app in the app. When used by Google Photo on my primary phone, it is easy to use Lens Lens or Circle to identify other items. The long zoom offers more utility, which is essential to my phone’s use habits.

I have learned my lesson since then. If I need it, I keep the P30 Pro with me. Despite her age, it still works like a backup phone despite the growing problems. I haven’t reset it, so all my apps and files are still safe on it. It also works for 256 GB storage bank offline file storage.

Nevertheless, my recent experiences without phone have taught me two valuable lessons. First of all, I can’t even imagine buying no zoom lens phones in the future. Certainly, I can use my 70-300 mm zoom lens more often on my D3400 and maybe I don’t always have a relatively Bul big DSLR camera. The convenience comes at a cost.

Secondly, the old hardware often goes beyond modern innovation. P30 Pro is proof of this. If the phone still received a regular update, I would not consider upgrading. Now that this is no longer my daily driver, I don’t care if it is running the old version of Android. But, thanks to its brilliant access, this is much more than getting its place in my current devices.
