The clock never ends for trickyak.
President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that gave a wildly popular social media app to a further 90 days to deal with US officials to sell themselves to a buyer or to face a federal ban. The latest expansion leads to the deadline until September 17.
The ban was actually designed to impress in January, but now Trump has pushed back three times, which both have acknowledged a hobby for Techtok and repeatedly promised not to remove the app from the Americans.
Both the Takatok and the Chinese government have permanently opposed the sale of the company’s US operations, and it is unclear if their positions have changed. In addition, in the months after Trump took office, his administration and China have fallen into a tariff war that has shaken the tensions between the two countries and the global markets.

Legislators from both political parties have long expressed concern that Takotok can be a threat to national security, and that the Chinese government can be used to spy on Americans or to spread false information to further China’s agenda. Taxtok continues to deny the allegations.
Last year, the Congress approved the sales need law with a heavy bilateral cooperation and signed the law by the former president, Biden. Supporters of the free speech and other groups filed a lawsuit on the basis of the first amendment, but the Supreme Court retained it in January.

What does the law do?
The purpose of this law is to force a buyer to be sold by US officials to sell tech, and guarantee that Baitidance no longer has access to US consumer data or has no control over the Tactic algorithm.
On January 19, 2025, the company was given nine months to comply with the deadline for sale, at which the government may need to remove its app from US app stores and demand that other tech companies stop supporting the app and the website.
On the night of January 18, the ticket closed in the United States, citing the ban, but the next morning Trump assured that he would not immediately implement it. Trump later formally formally made the promise formally formally signed an executive order, in which the Attorney General was instructed not to impose a ban for 75 days, and its deadline was effectively transferred on April 5.
Shortly before this deadline, Trump issued the second 75 -day executive order, saying that “tremendous progress” was made but no agreement was made. The delay, which pushed the deadline on June 19, was not unexpected.
Several potential bidders for US operations in Taktok had previously told their interest in a few days, and Trump was meeting with administration officials to discuss potential deals and ownership structures.

What is the benefit of Trump?
After initially demanding a ban during his first presidency, Trump said during his 2024 campaign that he was not in favor of anyone and had promised “saving Taxatov”, though he did not make it clear how he would do it. Shortly before signing the second extension, Trump told the press that “there is a great deal of interest in Techtok.” He added that he would “want to see Techtok alive” and said “we have a lot of potential buyers” and his administration is “dealing with China”, which has long been opposed to sales.
On March 26, the President mentioned that if China approved the sale of US Tauk’s US operations, they would consider reducing the revenue on Chinese goods. At that time, he reaffirmed his consent to push the deadline back when needed. Trump has also presented the idea of taking 50 % of the shares in the company as part of a joint venture, but details have not been given about how it will work.
Ticotok’s CEO Shu Chi Chi was one of the executives of several high -profile technology executives to attend Trump’s inauguration in January, a few hours before Trump signed a 75 -day extension order. Earlier, during a press conference in December, Trump pointed to the role of the ticket during the election, and helped him to vote for the youth.
“The ticket has an effect, and so we are taking a look at it,” Trump said. “I have a little warm in my heart. I will be honest.”
