- Google plans to integrate VEO 3 into YouTube shorts at the end of this summer.
- Creators will be able to use AI video generator to create clips.
Despite the ticket competition, YouTube shorts is growing rapidly. According to YouTube CEO Neil Mohan, this format is now more than 200 billion ideas. In the coming months, shorts will get an AI feature that can accelerate its growth.
Mohan, who appeared at the 2025 Cannes Festival of creativity on the occasion of YouTube’s 20 -year anniversary, revealed that YouTube shorts were changing. Talking about the strength of AI tools, the executive announced that the VEO 3 would come to the shorts this summer.
VEO 3 is Google’s latest AI video generator, which is able to make impressive video clips. The model was introduced last month during Google I/O 2025.
YouTube already uses the old version of VEO for pieces for AI-inflicing backgrounds and shorts. However, the VEO 3 is a large upgrade that can produce eight seconds of video and audio from a simple text prompt. In view of the shorter nature of the shorts, VEO 3 looks like it can be a great match for the platform.
At the same time, Tech can cause a headache for Google if creators decide to misuse this device by making deep faxes of celebrities or unknown information. Regarding Deep Fax, the company has tried to get ahead of potential problems to develop a device in partnership with the creative Artist Agency (CAA) and creators that will provide high -level people over their example. Meanwhile, YouTube has recently developed its content moderation policies, and instructed reviewers not to remove materials that break the rules if it is in the public interest.
