A controversial “Appeal to Paradise” flag that has recently been associated with the “Steel Steel” movement and Christian nationalism, was flown to Washington DC last week on the Small Business Administration (SBA) agency.
On June 11, a former senator from Georgia and the current SBA administrator, Kelly Lobler, attended a ceremony where a new US flag was raised at the agency’s headquarters in DC. Under the American flag, the same Halvard appeared, the “Appeal of Paradise” was the flag. Sources told the Wired that the “Appeal to Paradise” flag was raised for less than a day.
Although the flag roots are revolutionary war, it has become a popular symbol for the right -wing in recent years. In 2021, on January 6 in the capital, the rioters hoisted the “appeal to paradise”, and they have become associated with President Donald Trump’s supporters who deny the results of the 2020 presidential election. The flag is also linked to Christian nationalists, who believe that the United States should become a Christian nation rather than secular.
Jon Lewis, a research colleague of the extremist program at George Washington University, says, “” The flag is being flown to the US flag as well as a government building that should be surprised by anyone who does not want to live in theocracy, “says George. “The contemporary use of the heavenly flag is the synonym of Christian nationalism, a complete stop.”
“Those who raised the” heavenly appeal “flag in the capital on January 6, did so because they really believe that they have had the opportunity to injure Christian fundamentalism on the basis of our democracy, and the image of the same flag on the SBA will provide them with great evidence.”
Earlier, other Republicans have shared their support for the “appeal in paradise”. Home speaker Mike Johnson has shown the flag shown outside his office, and the flag was disputed outside the holiday house of the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in New Jersey. In an interview to the Associated Press, Johnson said he did not know that the flag was related to the electoral denial. In a letter to the lawmakers last year, Elito said the same. (Elevato Virginia has also been set on fire for a flight of American flags in his home. One of the flags is an indication of a discomfort that has been associated with right -wing protesters in recent years).
In a June 11 post on his X account, the lofler wrote, “At the SBA’s Flag Day ceremony today, we proudly raised a new American -made flag at our headquarters in Washington. It is an honor to serve under its stars and stripes. Ready
