    Intro

Motorola has done a lot of work with its annual device refresh, and more interesting devices are its latest Motorola Edge (2025) Mid Ranger that is fighting Pixel 9A, IPhone 16 e, and Galaxy A56 (which is coming to the United States soon).

However, this is not your regular annual upgrade: Edge made considerable changes to last year’s phone, which has improved the value.

Should you upgrade, or are you still good to go with the old edge?

Motorola Age (2025) vs. Motorola Age (2024) Differences explained:

    Design and display quality

    Even better design language

New Edge (2025) comes forward with a beautiful beautiful design language, influenced by the curved style of the range, which also names “Edge”.

Using a highly smooth and premium fueling wagon leather waist, a thin aluminum frame, and curved guerrilla glass screen, the Motorola Edge (2025) is one of the better -designed middle -distance devices of 2025, which has defeated most of its competitors in view and feeling.

The old edge also uses the same general design language. It has a slightly small screen, as well as slightly thick bells.

The new edge is slightly longer, wide and heavy than your predecessor, but both devices feel very comfortable in using and handling. Either anyone feels more compact than reality.

Although both phones have the upper left side of the frame to have custom buttons, they meet different goals. Edge (2025) has a dedicated AI key, which is used to launch a moto AI Sweet of features on the device. This button is not customized. Meanwhile, the old phone has a customized key that allows you to map different features.

In terms of resistance to the elements, the new moto is just better. This is the most water and dust resistance available: IP68/69, which ensures protection against climate protection as well as strong jets of strong water pulse in any direction. There is also a resistance to the Military Grade Mill -SD -810 trauma, which will provide you with peace of mind about phone resistance. At the same time, only IP68 in the back edge is, so not so resistant, but it should not be so worried in regular daily life.

Moto Age (2025) is available in the color of the quiet green dark forest, while the old edge only came in the black.

Another slight difference between the two devices is in the display section. Motorola has acquired a new edge with a 6.7 -inch screen, which is a small improvement on the 6.6 -inch display found on Motorola Age (2024). Unfortunately, both display are curved and therefore display many reflection in relation to their curves, which is harmful to the user’s overall experience.

In addition, the two are using FHD+ OLED panels, which are proud of the new edge with high PPIs, but you will be strictly pressured to feel the difference in the bare eyes. In terms of refresh rate, we are actually looking a little down: the old phone is proud of 144Hz, while its successor can only reach 120 herts. Still smooth, though.

According to our internal tests, this is a new motorla, which is slightly bright and more colorful. However, at least the brightness is very bad on both, you will find that when you use your phone in very little light.

    Performance and Software

    Two Shaystly Phone

The Motorola Edge (2025) is equipped with a meditative dimension 7400 chip, a polite 4nm chip set that is fit for a polite mid -Ranger. However, as is polite, it still offers a slight improvement in performance than his predecessor, which is even the humble Snapdragon 7s General 2.

Both devices feature 8 GB Ram and 256GB onboard storage in their base version. This is great, but the speed of its UFS 2.2 is very slow this day and age and certainly does not increase the overall faster of the phone. Still, this is a pair of 50 550 phones.

    CPU Performance Benchmark:

According to our tests, the Motorola Age (2025) certainly defeats its predecessor in the overall performance in both the Gack Bench Single and Multi -Core tests. Nevertheless, don’t be a fool: the phone is not an amazing actor, so when pushing the hardware closer to its limits, you have to deal with minor performance and some minor hiccups.

The new motorola offers better graphics performance equally than the old edge.

    Camera

An additional camera is very good

Motorola has changed the camera setup with Motorola Age (2025).

The main camera lives on both of them, a 50MP unit that has F1.8 aperture and a minor 1/1.56 “size, but the ultra -wide has been upgraded from 13MP One to 50MP unit, which is a huge improvement.

But wait, and too-while there were only two cameras in the old edge, the new scores a 10MP dedicated telephone with a 3x optical zoom, which is a huge increase in the cheap mid-Ranger. It is a small 1/3.94 “censor camera, but regardless of, being a dedicated zoom lens is a great honor of overall utility.

And Zoom seems to be one of the things that helps the new Moto Edge get better scores than its predecessor.

In our dedicated camera score test, the old phone offers slightly better results in steel photo and videography tests. The difference is small and perhaps different image processing algorithms can be detected that either provides chapestles.

    First Camera Score:

Despite the low scores, we will take a completely new motorola edge for additional versatility thanks to the telephonic zoom camera.

Here are some camera samples taken by the Moto Edge (2025):

    Battery life and charging

    Minor upgrade

Motorola Edge (2025) has a slightly 5,200mAh battery compared to its predecessor, which has a “only” 5,000 mAh battery unit.

Sadly, despite this increase, it appears that Snapdragon chip on the old model was slightly more efficient, so it achieved better results in our dedicated battery tests.

The Moto Age (2024) gets the battery life estimated for seven hours and 23 minutes, while the new model is damaged for about half an hour in six hours and 45 minutes. The biggest difference between the two models is in the standard browsing test, where the old motorola achieves significantly better results. Nevertheless, the new edge takes back one of our dedicated gaming tests, where it lasts about 40 40 minutes longer.

Batterina battery and charging test results:

Both phones support 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

It is an old phone that charges fast, though: Moto Edge (2024) takes only 40 minutes in the entire charge, which is significantly faster than a 53 -minute charge time, which receives Edge (2025).

    Which one should you buy?

Should you upgrade? Well, if you remember, this is the question we had to answer at the beginning, but sadly, we cannot answer without context.

If you are using the Old Motorola Edge (2024), you will not benefit much by upgrading. Certainly, the new device is designed better and has an extra camera, but it is not so good, and battery life and charging times do not improve.

If you are coming from an old motorol, consider upgrading to Motorola Edge (2025), though, though, this is a good value price phone that is only obstructed by its middle range chip.
