The Google Drive has recently been getting great love for Gemini. Google added the ability to browse your files and even watch videos for you. Now, Google is developing a new feature that gives users the quick summary of their PDF files.
Google introduces the PDF summary card, which is a new AI-driving feature that actively summarizes the PDF content when the file is opened in the Google Drive.
The summary also includes a “draft of the sample proposal” or “list of interviews based on the list of interviews”, such as clicking actions, Google gave two examples in its announcement. These actions launch Gemini in a side panel so that users can start work without leaving the document.
This is not the first time Google has tried to connect Gemini with the PDF. We have just been conveniently reviewed for a while, but viable AI suggestions, and new card layouts are new.
Users can double -click on any PDF to view summary cards. It appears in the Overley preview window instead of opening in a separate browser tab.
From Gmail to draft responses and email templates, from summarizing reports in documents, Google is sticking to everything in everything. It can manage tasks in the calendar and analyze the spreadsheet in sheets. They are all very good, but the PDF summary in the drive can be especially useful for everyone’s productivity.

You don’t need to use your new AII summary of your drive PDF. If you prefer, you can update your own drive settings to open a PDF in a separate browser.
This feature supports more than 20 languages at the time of launch. It is available to Google Work Space users for business standard, enterprise standard and plus, and Gemini education plan users. It is also available for everyone with old AI Pro or Ultra Advisor.
