Hey all-
It’s been an incredible a few months – we shared our vision in I/O and GML, and we are shipping at a speedy speed. We have seen a positive response to the AI format, including our purchase announcements, has heard the enthusiasm of our new advertising experiences directly from the business, and are taking new levels like Gemini live and XR glass to modern levels. It has been severe – but also intensely entertaining and strengthening – and I have seen and heard many of you from you. I played this role in the leadership of K&I because I believe that there is no better place to change the lives of billions of consumers in this AI moment. This is a lifetime of opportunity – and it’s still here.
In this exciting time and with such important tasks, my goal is to join each of us in the future construction of our products. To support this, I have made two decisions.
Offer a Volunteer Exit Program (VEP) for K&I Googlers in the United States
Some Google Orgs have offered the Volunteer Exit Program (VEP) in the past few months, and I am paying close attention and considering whether we should do the same for K&I. After listening to positive feedback on these pilots as well as listening to requests within our org, I have decided to present a VEP-it gives the US-based K&I Googlers (my direct reporting org) the ability to voluntarily leave the company with separation package.
I want to be very clear: If you are passionate about your work, reinforced the opportunity ahead, and perform well, I really (really!) I hope you won’t take it! We have the expensive projects and tons. We need your energy and dedication, and I want you on Google! On the other hand, this VEP offers a supporting way for those of you who do not feel associated with our strategy, do not feel dynamic with their work, or have difficulty in meeting your character expectations.
Changes in the workplace policy for local remote ends in the United States
For the Hybrid & Ei Googlers, coming to the office on the hybrid schedule is part of our expectations. You have heard me say that I am sure that when we are working in the office, we make better innovations and make decisions faster. I have decided to update my workplace policy to stay for more permanent, so we are currently fully remote and live 50 miles out of our K&I return sites and move back to the office. This means that they will be in accordance with the 3/2 hybrid schedule that almost all K&I Googlers are already there. We are working to ensure that our offices are ready to help our team as we welcome more Googlers to return to the office, and if local remote and iGoolers want to get closer to their return site, we are offering migration support.

My goal here is to ensure that everyone in our team is fully committed. In fact, we keep serving wherever we need, and we expect many outdoors to back up – which will create new opportunities for internal movement and growth.
By the end of the day, we will share the relevant details with all of the US -based K&I with Goglers and local remote K&I Goglers with us. I hope you will feel the option to make the decision that is right for you, and I really hope you will be impressed with the opportunity here and choose to live and build with us.
