    tl; drag

    • Pixel 9 will not support the device winding in Android 16 such as Foldable Android 16.
    • Only tablets will have a floating app Windows option, while a desktop mode phone will need an external display.
    • Desktop mode support for OEMS Building Phones and Foldable is optional.

If you were still hoping that Android 16 could finally allow you to run apps in floating windows on your foldable windows, you would like to distract those expectations. Despite the big screens on the Pixel 9 Pro -Folded foldable, Android 16 will not support the on -device window for them.

This explanation derives from Google’s response ARS TechnicaConfirm that phones and foldables will not be able to do a multi -task with the Frefurum app Windows on their screens. Instead, when they are linked to an external display such as a monitor or TV, they will only be able to use the Android’s new desktop styling interface. Right now, their built -in screens are the only winding devices bullets.

Even the external display winding feature will not be guaranteed on the board on large hands. Google says it will depend on individual manufacturers to see if their phone supports desktop mode. So when pixel devices support winding on external screens, others can remain on the basic display mirror without any functionality.

The rest of Android 16 still Strictly advocate for better screen support. The update target apps will be mostly notable through default on a large display, which should help better use tablets and foldable space. This is getting mandatory, but the developers can temporarily opt out Android is not exempt from sports, and at this time.

Whatever the demand for users for the device winding, it seems that it is just a matter of time before this happens. This is just a small reality test for everyone who is probably expecting to become foldable mini desktops overnight.
