Apple has officially confirmed that Micros Tahao 26 will be the last version of its desktop operating system to support Intel -based macs. The news was shared during the company’s WWDC 2025 key note and in a follow -up briefing with reporters.

The decision removes the final stage of Apple’s transfer from Intel Chips, whose company launched the company with the launch of its Apple Silicon processors in 2020. While Macos Tahao will still run on the selected Intel Max-such as the 2019 Mac Pro and some high-end MacBook Pro Models will be special for the future version of McCose Apple Silicon.

Apple says the co -ordinated Intel Max will continue to receive minor software updates for at least two years. These updates are expected to add security patches and bug fixes, but not new features. For many users, still using Intel machines, this means that their computers are officially entering the final stage of support.

Turn back, the writing has been on the wall for a while. Apple’s recent focus focuses on AI, machine learning, and battery correction. New features on MacOS, including Apple Intelligence, are only compatible with M -Series Mac. As a result, Intel models have been released rapidly from the latest innovations.

Until the mid -2025, Apple no longer sells any Intel -based Mac through its official channels. The last Intel Mc -Mac, who lives on Apple’s lineup, was at the end of the 2019 Mac Pro, which was closed earlier this year when his Apple Silicon was launched. Any rest of Intel Max can now be found only through a third -party seller or a renewed market.

On the contrary, the move allows Apple to further improve its software for Apple Silicon, which should benefit users with new devices. But on the back, it also raises concerns that expensive machines will be current and useful.

At some point, Apple had to call. With Micros Taho, that moment has come. Intel Mac users have some time left before full support is over, but now it has become clear that McCons’ future is completely from Apple Silicon.
