The next generation of QI 2.2 wireless charging can be on us soon thanks to a regulatory filing discovered at Taiwan’s NCC certification site. This will make the Qi wireless charging standard update, and we can see it on the iPhone 17 models later this year.
As seen via 91Mobiles.com, two new megasaf charger models (A3502 and A3502) appear in the filing. Both models appear to support the new QI 2.2. Standard
Based on the photos in the filing, the beautiful standard white puck charger appears with the Lutded USB-C cables in the model 2 and 1 meter in length.

What is new with 2.2 is that the test has revealed that it can support 50W charging output. For comparisons, Qi 2 is at the top at standard 15W.
The current iPhone 16 Models support the upgraded meg safe charge with 30W charger, and can go up to 25W. Qi 2.2. The charger doubled.
According to the test documents, the new chargers were tested on recent devices like the iPhone 16 and was as old as the iPhone 11. Apple’s megassaf charging was first introduced in 2020 with the iPhone 12.
This shows that Qi 2.2. The chargers will have extensive compatibility, obviously the charging speed will be limited to the old devices.
Additionally, 2.2. Locally comes with “better magnetic alignment”, which means iPhones should be faster and better on the charger. It is also considered more effective that “there is no unnecessary loss of electricity or heat.”
Although the iPhone does not support 16 QI 2.1, the next iPhone 17 models will support QI 2.2. If the usual September launch window is already being tested well.
