When Steve Jobs unveiled the original generation iPhone in 2007, many people were surprised to find that the tools were already installed with the YouTube client. Even Apple mentions this in an advertisement that it went for the iPhone. The Voiceover Declaration says, “You will be surprised by some of the things you find on YouTube,” when the advertisement shows the YouTube client on the device. When we watch the dog’s YouTube video on the skateboard, the announcement added, “But when this thing comes down, the biggest surprise is probably looking for YouTube on your phone.” In 2012, things changed with the release of iOS6 beta 4 when Apple removed the YouTube client (along with Google Maps) from the iOS. Google has created iOS apps for YouTube and Google Maps that iPhone users continue to use to date. But YouTube recently updated its iOS app in version 20.22.1 and with this update a significant change came. To install the YouTube app on the iPhone, the handset should run iOS 16 or later. As a result, many older models of the iPhone are no longer able to use the YouTube app.

The iPhone models are no longer compatible with the YouTube app that cannot update the past iOS 15. These models include the following:

    • IPhone 6 S
    • IPhone 6s Plus
    • IPhone 7
    • IPhone 7 Plus
    • IPhone SE (First generation)

This list also includes the iPod Touch 7. As far as the iPad is concerned, the YouTube app now needs to run the tablet iPados 16 or after. As a result, there are two models of the iPad that are no longer compatible with the iOS YouTube app. This model is iPad Air 2 and iPad Money 4.

Apple devices that are no longer compatible with the YouTube app can still open YouTube by opening the mobile web version of the video stream. Just open a safari mobile browser or any other mobile browser and go to MY Outbow.com. In the day, I had to use the site to watch YouTube videos on my LG Voyager and does not provide experience like the YouTube app. Still, until you go out and buy a new iPhone or iPad that can be installed iOS 16 Or later, you are heading to the site to catch YouTube videos.
