Apple’s iPhone is expected to see a decrease in sales rise this year.
President Donald Trump’s rising prices and new data are causing great concern and uncertainty, and it shows that global smartphone sales will suffer for this year.
On Wednesday, market research firm Counterpoint released a report that reduced its previous estimates of global smartphone shipment in 2025, which has dropped from 4.2 percent to 1.9 percent year. Although the report is not the only element of revenue, the firm mainly attributed the change to the “new uncertainty around US prices”.
This reduction in development is less visible for the two largest global smartphone providers. Counterpoint reduced its prediction growth in Apple’s sales by 4 % to 2.5 %. The prices are expected that the company is expected to start with the launch of its iPhone 17 Line later this year. In the meantime, Samsung is predicted to see that sales are stagnant now, which is less than 1.7 % growth pre -prediction.
Trump announced a barrier of revenue in early April, which causes widespread turmoil in the market and fears prices, especially for famous tech products like smartphones. In response to these problems, the Trump administration later issued a discount for smartphones and various other electronics, though it is not known if it will last a long time.
As the Counterpoint noted in its report, the sales of smartphones are expected to decline this year due to the overall decline in consumer costs due to tariff uncertainty.
Representatives from Apple and Samsung did not immediately respond to comments requests.
