Some motorcycle lock makers provide their own internal safety ratings for guidance. These may be helpful, but the highly safe locks we have tested use standard ratings from objective sources, including sales secure, which offers a number of vehicles rated between bronze and diamonds and art, which uses a scale from 1 to 5.
So what is the meaning of these ratings? Here is a guide to two lock security companies and their rating systems.
Secure sale In 1992, Northern and Essex police were founded in the UK. The brand is now owned and operated by the Master Locksmith Association, which is a profitable trading group. It uses a four -level rating system, as listed below.
Sold to a secure rating level: Bronze (the lowest, protected against basic tools); Silver (Saved against Midinage, Better Tolls/Determination Attacks); Gold (second best, dedicated tools/resistant to attacks); Diamonds (most of the most devastating attacks and “special tools”).
The firm also uses separate ratings for the varieties of different vehicles, such as motorcycles (now called the pedal cycle and the powerful cycles, respectively). For example, Hypelock has secure sales in DX Pedal Cycle Diamond Rating and a secure a secure A cycle of strength Ranking is a good score, but it is not as safe as Litelok X1 like high mill resistant options or hard locks such as Latok X3 and Hypelic D1000, all three get diamonds in both types. The mills of locks will usually say the same on the brand site directly. When there is a doubt, you can always go to a secure website to find out if your lock has been classified.
Art A Dutch independent security firm that uses the Five Star Security System focused on vehicle type, stability, weather, environmental resistance and attacks.
Art rating level: 1/5 (Minimum security rating, fit for the second motorcycle lock); 2/5 (High security rating that represents good theft protection for bicycles, minimal for most insurance companies); 3/5 ۔ 4/5 (Too much security rating for bicycles, good safety of theft for motorcycles during travel); 5/5 (Most protective ratings, sometimes need to be insured at home reserved motorcycles).
