China has successfully launched the first cluster cluster of 12 satellites of its three -body computing tower on May 14 from the Geokovan Satellite Launch Center on May 14 from a long March 2D rocket. The full supercompoting network will include 2,800 satellites and will provide a combined computing capacity of 1,000 penetration operations per second (POPS). At present, twelve satellite high -speed laser communication links in orbit are interconnected through links to 100 gigbates per second. The move will use the cold vacuum as a natural cooling system and may transmit AI processing from earth to space. The project is led by the company ADASPace and Xijiang Lab.

    AI in orbit

According to the translated ADA space statement, China’s launch has an 8 billion parameter AI model in each satellite that can perform 744 tera operations per second. When together, their processing power will be able to perform five beaten operations per second.
Traditionally, satellites collect raw data and move it back to Earth, which is limited by tight bandout and transmission windows. This delays data reduction and processing. By processing data in space, the system reduces transmission requirements and benefits from solar energy and natural cooling of space, which reduces energy consumption and environmental impact.

    Global cooperation and cosmic inspiration

According to Jiang Lab’s Wang Jian, the platform is open for international use, which encourages other countries and organizations to participate in its development. Although the United States and Europe have tested on space computers, China’s ranks have been first deployed on a viable scale. Meanwhile, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt has proposed to launch data centers in orbit after purchasing controlling interest at the California Launch Company Relatility Space.
