Richard Usman has become a beloved figure in the British pop culture. After years on TV, he has made a very successful legend with his hut “Thursday’s assassination club” book series, which follows a group of elderly friends at a retirement house that solves both cold and current cases.
Now, the first book has been molded into a Star Studed Net Flex film, which has brought the favorite characters of these fans to the screen for the first time.
Netflix just dropped the first trailer for the “Thursday’s murder club”, and it already looks like a comedy entertainment clock. I will never say good mystery flick, Especially A star Pierce Brucean and Helen Marin.

In the film, since Netflix released some of the first look at the last month, the film released some pictures of my reader, which made it a place in my mandatory summer list. Based on Usman’s first novel, the story follows four retirees in a silent English village, whose true crime club becomes serious when they find themselves investigating a real murder.
The upcoming Netflix Movie, directed by Director Chris Columbus and supported Steven Spielberg’s Ambable Entertainment, will begin on this platform. August 28, 2025.

Look
The trailer gives us Helen Marin our first look as Elizabeth, Pierce Brucenon as Ron and Ben Kingsley as Ibrahim, when he crosses the role of Celia Amri, Joyce, during the 1973 mystery.
When we shaken things suddenly, the killing of a real, modern age, we see Joyce a little passionate. The preview also offers a sharp peek on the characters played by Naomi Ekki and Angarid Oliver.
It is easy to compare with other famous mystery of murder. “Only murder in the building” comes to mind immediately, though it does not appeal to younger. You can also see some clear effects in the mixture of Ryan Johnson’s “Knife Out” films, as well as a combination of mysteries and playful humor. I’m already on the board.

Along with the first trailer, we also have an official summary thanks to Netflix: “Based on Richard Usman’s international novel by Richard Usman, Thursday’s murder club has retired four irreparable retired retired – Elizabeth (Helen Marin), Ron (Pierce Breeson), and Ibrahim.
“When an unknown death occurs on their own doorstep, their comfortable turns fast because they find themselves with a real Woodonite on their hands.”
Columbus told Netflix: “This is the best cast with which I have worked since Potter. They are just surprisingly well prepared, and the reason is that they do everything. They do theaters, they make television, they film, and they have developed such muscles.”

The full cast includes Helen Marin, Pierce Brucenn, Ben Kingsley, Celia Amri, Naomi Ekki, Daniel Mes, Henry Lloyd Hughes, Tom Elise, Jonathan Price, David Tenant, Paul Freeman, Jeff Bell, Ingrd Oliver, and Richard E. Grant. It is likely that some of these actors will be shown as small (but incredibly entertained) as chemos.
Usman has extended the “Thursday assassination club” in a full book series, which has four follow-up novels-the most recent, impossible Fortune, is set to release in September. So if Netflix adaptation is a hit, it can easily pave the way for a complete film franchise.
When talking to Netflix about this story, Columbus said: “There is basically a wonderful mystery, so the mysterious fans will be happy. But it is interesting that we have found four elderly people who are living in the retirement community, and they are attracted to death and murder.
Only these words have already made me interesting. I like a good Woodonite, and knowing that it is based on a book that people have been raving about makes me even more interested in seeing how it plays on the screen. Plus, Pierce Brucen and Helen Marin? Don’t say more
