Verizon is down – VZW’s closure begins
We are seeing a significant increase in the Dowan detector -on Verizon reports. According to this post, 1,644 notifications have been received, which is a lot of money for a popular mobile carrier and indicates that something is wrong.
Since the closure is underway, we will monitor it and keep you posting about the number of reports and what is happening and what is happening.

Even more detectors reports
As we published a closure report for Verizon, the reports of the Dowan detector exploded at 2,262 – when the first time started, about 1,000 one thousand jumped. It is clear that something is wrong with a mobile carrier and more and more users are realizing that their mobile phone is not working properly and reporting the issue.

Is also visible

Verizon’s ownership is also facing issues based on reports of MVNO visible.
Obviously, the number of notifications is very low, with a low user base. Nevertheless, the number of information is not the ones that are important to those who have difficulty using their phone. They can’t use their phones, and this is a problem.

The problems of the problem
As is usually the case when a mobile carrier is dealt with by a closure, it is not the whole country with problems. Instead, notifications to focus on mostly New York City, New Jersey and Washington DC
If you are in these areas, you will know that you cannot contact your mobile carrier.

Verizon’s expectation is the time to restore
I selected a random address in Washington DC, to see if Verizon had recognized the closure in the area. As expected, this happened.
According to the Page of Verizon’s check network status, the EDT was launched at 10:09 am in the area at 05/20/25am. When it is expected to restore, Verizon expects the service to be restored at the EDT at 10:44 pm on 05/20/25.

Not on New York City Verizon’s website
I tried an address in Lower Manhattan and showed the last Verizon closure on 5/5/2025, so it doesn’t seem that the company has yet acknowledged the issue (or they are just a starter report by another closure).

Users are arriving
@Yes_Sur 75 We are sorry to hear that you are facing internet problems. We are here to help. Please feel free to send us a DM for further help. -HoMay 20, 2025
As is always the case when there is an important closure, consumers jump X to complain about this problem. More frequently, these complaints are directed in the company’s support account. In this case, consumers are contacting @World Port with their problems, like in the above post.
The Verizon Support Account has not offered much new information, just asked readers to discuss the situation to reach them via DM.

It seems that most data happens
Most users can call on Verizon and send text, but they have difficulty using mobile data. Although this is not ideal at all, it is also good that users can make at least emergency calls and text lovers if they need.

First misery

Verizon may eventually improve, as the first time after its inception, down detector reports have decreased. Reports have been seen less up to 2,264 when the latest update reached 2,787.
There is still a significant number of information, but the fact that it is decreasing may be a good thing for Verizon users to struggle to use their mobile data.

Is it over?

Can the closure end?
Reports have fallen to 1,112 so it can come closer.

It looks like things are being settled

Reports related to the Dowan detector are stable, according to this posting, sitting around 500.
On social media, we have seen people say that the service has been restored, though its excavation is digging through it because more and more people have now gone crazy in Verizon due to a recent report that the company has ordered the FCC to approve the FCC, which has been eliminated by the Trump administration.

Fine in tasks

We have already examined the Verizon Status Page with both New York and DC leaves today. At that time a “known” problem was acknowledged but said that it would be resolved in an hour.
Now, by re -examining it, the estimated time to restore the service has increased.
Currently, using the Los Angeles Area Code, the estimated time to restore the service has been set at 4pm or 7pm on the East.
Strangely, the network disruption began on May 13.
Meanwhile, down detector, has been reporting about 500 reports for the past half an hour.

Keeping stable
For the past one hour, the downside has been stable around 500.
Although we are not seeing so many claims from social media or comments.
And the government status page still says that the service should be restored by 4 pm.
For now we are in a holding pattern.

The closure appears to end
Unless something changes rapidly, it seems that the closure is largely removed.
Reports have decreased and we are not seeing anything else.
Yes, the government status page still points to the Pacific, at 4pm.
We will only keep an eye on it for a while.

A slightly bump
Hmmm … this closure will not just be far away.
Finally, after sinking under 400 reports, we just saw a collision and is now slowly climbing again.
I see claims on social media that people cannot even go to Verizon’s customer service for help.
We are investigating the matter.

Down

We have arrived in Verizon to comment on today’s closure, and we will refresh if they respond.
However, this confrontation was short and we are now less than 300 reports.
