Wind surf, an artificial intelligence (AI) nine code or ‘vibing coding’ platform, released a series of AI models on Thursday. Dodged SWE1, these models are focused on complex software engineering tasks, and not only on writing code. This includes SWE-1, SWE-Lite, and SWE-1-MINI, where each model is designed for specific issues. Light and mini versions are available to all wind surfers, while Frontier SWE -1 model is available only to users. The company has not yet revealed the pricing and availability of the Frontier Coding Model.

Wind Surf unveiled the new software engineering AI model

A California -based AI firm described a new series of AI models in a blog post. The SWE-1 is designed to deal with human complex tasks and responsibilities, and not only write and edit the codes. The company says that while the coding model has improved, their scope has not increased significantly.

Most models are still trained to produce codes that set and pass unit tests, but this software represents only a small part of engineers. The company added that the next generation of the coding model should be able to work in terminals, translate user feedback and handle tasks for a long time.

Wind Surf has claimed that the SWE -1 series is a step in the same direction. The Frontier model is said to perform at the level of 3.5 sunts and comes with features such as tool calling and reasoning. Wind Surf has claimed that the AI model will be given cheaper price than the anthropic model.

On the other hand, SWE-1-Lite is a lightweight model that can perform daily coding work. The company said it was available for unlimited use. Similarly, SWE-1-mini is a low delay model that is perfect for real time tasks. These two are available to all users, including free levels.

Wind Surf said the SWE-1 is the company’s first attempt in a Frontier model that can be compared to a human software engineer. As a result, the model benchmark scores were not as high as the company expected. However, it now plans to further develop the SWE family.
