Identifying the International Data Corporation (IDC), India’s Smart TV shipment recorded a growth of 8.6 percent (YOY) in 2024 years. The report states that with the increase in 55 -inch and more display and offline shipment, the growth of smart TV was mainly given to the growth. Samsung led the Smart TV market in India last year with 16.1 percent shared, after which LG was near. Chinese tech brand Xiaomi, TCL and Sony came in the first five.
The IDC shared insights on India’s Smart TV shipment in 2024. According to the post, the domestic smart TV market increased by 8.6 % in 2024. India managed to send 12.1 million units last year, and the IDC observed that the increase was increased by 43 % in 55 inches+ TV and an increase in offline delivery by 20 %. However, online delivery has decreased by 8 %.
Samsung, LG emerges as high choice
Samsung was a major part of India’s Smart TV shipment and retained its first position in 2024 with 16.1 percent market share. The South Korean company registered 35.9 % YOY growth. LG performed an impressive performance and finished second with 15.1 % market share. It also saw 42.2 % of YOY growth.
Xiaomi came in third with an 11.7 percent market share. In 2023, the brand had 14.2 % of the market share. The IDC noted that the Chinese brand posted a 10.1 % YOY shortage in its delivery.
TCL and Soni secured fourth and fifth positions with 8.4 % and 8.2 %, respectively. TCL posted 21.1 % YOY growth, while Sony recorded YOY growth 26.9 %.
The IDC observed that 2025 was a slow start for the Indian Smart TV market with 7 percent of the UVD in January February. An IDC analyst is predicted to loot health later this year.
“In 2024, 55 inches and 65 -inch smart TV segments increased significantly by 42 percent and 75 percent, which is occupying 19 percent and 6 percent shares respectively. The market has begun to recover in the next quarters, which will lead to middle -digit growth in 2025.”
