Introduction
Super bright display, massive battery, high-end chipset – it was the Realme GT7 Pro. Well, the GT8 Pro has those things too, but puts the spotlight on those pillars, adding another level of excellence.
To signal this new development, the brand has teamed up with Ricoh — not quite as high-profile as camera makers Leica or Hasselblad, but it’s something. A significantly improved telephoto camera and an improved ultra-wide module promise nicer images, while a replaceable camera island cover means you can shoot in style, too.
The already bright display has gotten even brighter for this year’s model, now at 7,000NITs. Another 7,000 can be seen in the battery capacity field of the GT8 Pro’s spec sheet, making for an impressively equipped GT7 Pro. And, sure enough, the chipset of this latest model is the latest Snapdragon Elite that Qualcomm has to offer.

The list of niceties includes modest but still premium goodies like an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, a pair of symmetrical speakers, Dolby Vision support for playback and recording, extra-tight dust and water sealing, extra fast charging capability – the GT8 Pro makes for a complete package.

Realme GT8 Pro Unboxing
Our GT8 Pro review unit arrived in a full-sized box like the good old days, and included a charger – don’t count on getting one if you’re in most of the EU. If you get one, it should be a 120W sproc one that probably maximizes the phone’s charging speed. A USB-A-TO-C cable should be part of the package regardless of where you are. A protective case for the phone is also included.

The point in this case is that its camera opening isn’t compatible with all possible forms of camera island covers (more on that on the next page), and the phone may come with more than one of them. We’re not entirely sure how this is all going to work. There is a small screwdriver in the box – which works as expected.
