    Introduction and Specifications

After releasing the 10s Pro earlier this year, which felt like a mild refresh of the original RedMagic 10 Pro, Nubia is now delivering a proper next-gen upgrade to its gaming phone series with the RedMagic 11 Pro.

So if you want to go all-in on Android gaming in 2025, Redmagic 10 Pro is your best bet. Especially since the next-gen ASUS ROG Phone isn’t out yet.

One key difference between the Chinese and global Red Magic 11 lineup is that the Pro+ model in China is actually the standard Pro version for the rest of the world.

In any case, the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset ships with the Red Magic 11 Pro and upgrades the cooling system. Now you have a more powerful fan, water and dust proof, and “the world’s first liquid cooling on a mass production smartphone”.

ZTE Nubia Red Magic 11 Pro specs at a glance:

    • body: 163.8×76.5×8.9mm, 230g; Glass Front (Gorilla Glass), Aluminum Frame, Glass Back; Pressure sensitive zone (520 Hz touch sensing), built-in cooling fan, aviation aluminum middle frame, IPX8 water resistant (immersed up to 1.5m for 30 minutes).
    • Display: 6.85″ AMOLED, 1B color, 144Hz, 2592Hz PWM, 1800 NITS (PEAK), 1216X2688PX resolution, 19.89:9 aspect ratio, 431PPI.
    • Chip Set: Qualcomm SM8850-AC Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3nm): Octa-core (2×4.6 GHz Orion V3 Phoenix L + 6×3.62 GHz Orion V3 Phoenix M); Adreno 840.
    • Note: 256 GB 12 GB RAM, 512 GB 16 GB RAM, 1 TB 24 GB RAM; UFS 4.1 Pro.
    • OS/Software: Android 16, Red Magic OS 11.
    • Rear camera: wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.9, 1/1.55″, 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 50 MP, f/2.2, 1/2.88″, 0.61µm; depth: auxiliary lens.
    • Front Camera: 16 MP, f/2.0, (wide), 1/2.77″, 1.12µm, under display.
    • Video capture: Rear camera: 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps; Front camera: 1080p@30/60fps.
    • Battery: 7500mah; 80W wired, 80W wireless, 100% in 68 minutes.
    • contact: 5G; Wi-Fi 7; BT 5.4 ; NFC; infrared port; 3.5 mm jack.
    • Miscellaneous:: Fingerprint reader (under display, ultrasonic); Stereo speakers.

There are no changes to the display, and that’s not bad news, as the large, full-screen 6.85-inch OLED panel with 144Hz resolution performed quite well in our tests last time.

No significant changes to the camera hardware either – two 50MP cameras on the front and an under-display 16MP shooter on the front.

    Nubia Redmagic 11 Pro Review

On the other hand, the battery department gets a lot of love this time around. The handset now ships with a massive 7,500 mAh Silicon Carbon battery in all international markets. It also supports fast 80W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. The latter was absent in previous generations. Reverse wireless charging is also supported.

Other notable upgrades that come with the new generation include better speakers, new RGB LED lighting, an upgraded Red Core R4 dedicated gaming chip and a handful of AI and non-A software gaming features.

Unboxing the Nubia Red Magic 11 Pro

The device comes in a standard retail box with the usual quick start guide, a transparent protective case and a USB-C to USB-A to USB-A to USB-A cable for charging and data transfer.

Interestingly, even the European retail package includes a compatible 80W fast wired charger. So kudos to Nubia for that.
