Vivo just unveiled the Y500 Pro, and it’s somewhat of a non-straightforward upgrade over its predecessor. Let’s start with the good.
The phone is slightly faster thanks to a MediaTek dimension 7400 SoC, which is essentially the same SoC as the 7300 inside the Y400 Pro but with a 100 MHz faster clock. RAM is either the same 8 gigs or a larger 12 GB, which older phones lack.
On a less positive note, the Vivo Y500 Pro downgrades its predecessor’s UFS 3.1 to UFS 2.2.

The Vivo Y500 Pro debuts a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with Diamond Shield Glass. It’s a slightly smaller panel than its predecessor’s 6.77-inch. The new phone is also slightly heavier than its predecessor.
However, Vivo is better equipped for the elements with both IP68 and IP69 ratings. The Vivo Y500 Pro is also highly drop resistant and has the industry’s first National Standard Reliability certification.

The other key improvement of the Y500 Pro over the Y400 Pro is the battery. It’s now 7,000mah (22% bigger) and maintains 90W charging.

The final upgrade is in the camera department. The single-lens camera system is now a 200MP unit with a 1/1.56-inch sensor.
The selfie camera is the same 32MP F/2.5 unit as before.

The Vivo Y500 Pro comes in Good Cloud, Light Green, Soft Powder, and Titanium Black colors and four configurations. The base 8/128GB is CNY 1,799 (218, INR 22,400), the 8/256GB is CNY 1,999 (€242, INR 24,900), the 12/256GB is CNY 2,299 (€280, INR 28,600), and the top-of-the-line CE-LE. (€315, INR 32,300).
