The new Redmi Watch 6 brings a slimmer design, an extra button and other improvements over the Redmi Watch 5 that was announced just over a year ago. The watch is now available in China for CNY 600 ($85/€75/₹7,500), the same price as the previous model. It comes in three colors: Blue, Silver and Black.

Xiaomi Redmi Watch 6
Like its predecessor, the Watch 6 has a rectangular 2.07” OLED display with rounded corners. However, the new display is brighter and can reach a peak of 2,000 nits from 1,500 nits. The slimmer bezels also make for smaller dimensions – 46.5 x 40.0 x 9.94mm, compared to 47.5 x 41.1 x 11.3mm.

Let us emphasize again that the Last Dimension-2025 watch is a hairy 10mm thick. This is an important milestone and will make the watch feel smaller on your hand. It weighs the same at 31g vs 33.5g (note: this is without the strap).
On the side of the aluminum alloy unibody is the familiar stainless steel crown – and a new shortcut button. It can trigger three custom actions: click, long press and double click. By default, these show the Control Center, open the Power menu and call your emergency contact.

There’s always an option on the display, but it will eat into your battery life. The 550mAH battery is the same capacity as last year and can last up to 24 days with light usage, up to 12 days with health tracking and up to 7 days with AOD enabled.
The Redmi Watch 6 features dual L1 antennas for more precise positioning outdoors. It has routine heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep tracking as well as 150+ sports modes. It’s rated at 5ATM, so it’s perfect for snorkeling and can even measure your heart rate underwater.

The watch comes out of the box with HyperX 3 and supports Bluetooth 5.4 for communication with your phone. There is no ESIM option available yet. It also supports NFC as well as QR-based payment systems for things like digital bus passes and car keys.
It can also handle instant replies to WeChat messages. You can install third-party apps for additional functionality, such as games like FLIGTRADAR24, 2048 and others.
Again, the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 6 is already available in China, but there’s no word on a global release. Seeing as how widely available the Watch 5 is, we think it’s only a matter of time.
