Today, I can confirm that the system actually works. I traveled to the Framework’s San Francisco Offices to become the first journalist to upgrade the entire laptop graphics card with my own hands, In just three minutes – Including the time to reboot. I removed an AMD Radeon RX 7700S video card out of the machine and plugged in a new mobile Nvidia RTX 5070, which includes only six patch and pen -shaped screwdriver that includes the machine.

And since sure to see, I filmed the whole thing to tell you how fast and easy it was. (Hey experienced PC Builders: This looks easy with MXM modules, okay?)

I would love to test everything in the framework offices. We could not run the benchmark, the cards are working only on the card. ۔

Nos, I was unable to upgrade Enough From the beginning I truly halt my original framework laptop 16 review unit to San Francisco to see if I could change or not They In a new NVIDIA laptop, but CEO Nero Patel told me that it would need a software update, including at least a new BIOS version, which was not yet fully prepared. So when I upgraded myself, the laptop I upgraded was the one that the framework prepared for the GPU exchange.

When I was there, I also had to try the 240W USB-C PD 3.1 charger according to the new standard of framework, which is one of the first in the market, with a laptop 16 (first 240W PD 3.1 laptop) finally played at full speed and charged. I brought my power meter and run the tension test, charging my battery, and at the same time, charging two phones in the laptop, pulled the framework laptop 16 to 220W. When I returned after 15 or more minutes, the new power adapter was just hot, not hot – was comfortable to pick up and catch. Next week I will have a video.

Only $ 699 for a 100W, 8GB Mobile RTX 5070 performance, it can be a niche for now. But the framework has proved this point, and I am hoping that the upgrade in the future will prevent it from being tall.
