Hori Plant Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2: Review
The Hori Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2 is an strange, but uncertain entertainment creation. This is a webcam for Nintendo Switch 2 that has been modeling at the classic super mario enemy, Parana plant. You know, the one that raises your head from the pipe in trying to eat the whole.
This model is produced by video game accessories producer Hori, but is licensed by Nintendo itself. Yes, this official switch is full of character and extravagant than 2 camera, but still, its price only. List 59.99 / £ 33.99 / AU $ 64.95 is lower at a lower price. But why?
Well, before we reach it, I want to talk about the design of this thing – which is more unique than the best webcam. Not only is it alive and best for any Nintendo fan, but it is also made very well. This webcam comes with a leaf, with a leaf to angle, which you can connect to its trunk – and comes with a mouth that can be open and closed to display or hide the camera.
In the upper part, there is a plant vessel, which can be closed and used as a stand, or can be opened to mount your monitor or TV plant. Most parts, I kept the vessel closed, and added it to my Nintendo Switch 2 through the USB-C cable. The open position was not so wide to fit my TV, which I expect will be the case for many users.
If you are playing in a handheld format, you can plug the Pernament Plant directly into the USB-C port of your switch 2, making it a highly versatile option. I also appreciated the right angle of 3.5 mm, which enables you to use one of the best switch headset wired in Nintendo, without the part of your cable’s address.
So far, they all look very pink for this lil plant. But we have not really paid attention to the key reason for this low price point. And, unfortunately, is associated with performance. Yes, Hori’s Plant Camera offers 480p resolution, which was fine 20 years ago but, in 2025, it is not so good.
As you can imagine, the 480p is extremely bound, and the quality of the image you get from this camera is flawed. I tried to play something Mario Cart World With my friend, and the details about my face and clothing were not clear, while the colors lacked the stir and in the real tone of life. In the upper part of it, I tried to sit near a meter in docard mode from my TV, and my picture was very fading. In fact, my face looked like it was melting. Thankfully it was not, but the plant asked me this question.

One thing I will appreciate the Pirnah plant, though, it tracked my face to a great extent. I Mario Cart WorldA webcam can be used to display your face in a small circle on the result page, or with the middle race of your character. The whole, the Parana plant managed to keep me focused well, even if my image lacked the original sophistication.
It is worth noting that there are not many topics yet with the functionality of the webcam. Yes, it increases entertainment contact Mario Cart Worlds Online Multi Player, and opens up some additional minagges in Mario Party Jumboy + Jambur TVBut it’s about it right now.
At the same time, is it able to buy Hori’s old plant webcam? Well, its 480p resolution makes it impossible for me to recommend – it is until you want to remember the quality of the Nintendo DSI and 3DS camera.
And so, finally, it doesn’t matter how much I like the eyes of this dashing plant. Because I can’t help but feel frustrated – no … torture – on the quality of his tragic picture. This surprises me, then, how can we just reconcile two such polarizing emotions for one person? Well, maybe we can’t. It may be that the dispute, in fact, makes this plant so interesting. Its beauty is undeniable, yet it has flaws. Buying it is to experience a dispute in its raw form.

How did I experience Hori Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2

- Tested for a week
- Used at home in handheld and TV mode
- Tested mainly during the game Mario Cart World
I tested the Hori Perna Plant Camera for a week, using it as a basic camera for my Nintendo Switch 2. During this period, I used the camera in handheld and dock mode, with my console linked to Sky Glass General 2 Television and Samsung HW-Q800D Sound Bar.
There are not many titles yet that now support camera functionality on Nintendo Switch 2, so for most parts, I experienced the model’s image quality. Mario Cart World. To do this, I entered the game chat with my future partner Nikita, and assessed the quality of my image from different distances.
