Think about Over the past few years, Bluetooth trackers and safety and your first thinking of the Apple air tag and similar devices against women in domestic abuse and sticks cases can be misused.
In addition to mutual support to counter and close these malicious uses (such as IETF’s unwanted location trackers, or dolit, standard detection), trackers are turning the script themselves, and changing the tech that is used to protect women against their will.
In mid -July, Seattle -based Pebblebi announced a new, free SOS safety feature called alert for its $ 35 clip Bluetooth tracker, which is made of Apple’s or Google’s Find Hub Networks, like the rest of its Universal Line -up, with a 30 percent recycled plastic.
When multi -pressure (six plus presses), the clip can trigger a siren alarm, shine LED lights and automatically send SMS text notification into a “safety circular” contact that you have already protected in the Publie app.

The app is easy to connect, and a long press siren and LEDs on the device turn off, though it is unlikely that you will go astray or eliminate it by mistake. The clip’s siren is not as high and the lights do not cover the radius as it is like a dedicated personal alarm, but they are enough to warn passers -by at night. In addition, the Pabebi website states: “The warning functionality, including siren, stroke, and the first safety circle, will always be completely free.”
We tested the SOS system and did it without hiccups. Our Safety Circle Buddy received a text stating: “Argent: Sophie activated a pibble alert. Please check immediately” with Google Maps with the right location link. Clicking on the “mark as a mark” button in the app and/or prolonged pressure on the clip sends a follow -up text that “Sophie canceled her pibble alert” with the final location link.
However, now, Pubby is adding a subscription option for a payment, named alert live, which offers a five -connection safety circle to obtain the SOS text notification, when mobilizing through the clip, as well as direct location for these contacts, $ 26 or $ 26 in a month. There is also a new silent format, which sends a warning to both free and compensation for users without sirens and LEDs: useful, though we have not yet had the opportunity to test it or not yet have the opportunity to share its new real -time location.
