Android has been significantly developed in the last decade, and a significant change has been in the fall of customized development in Android. Customs or moods are less popular in users, and one reason is the concept of fines in Android skins, OEMS is gaining support. Recently, Samsung placed road blocks on bootloader unlocking, which is the key to installing any customs mode or rooting the Android device, and another big phone brand – OnePlus – is putting extra barriers.
One Plus has announced a new system that is limited to who can unlock the boot loader on his phone. Describing reasons such as “data security” and a better “system stability” (based on machine translation of the machine), OnePlus introduces a new procedure where everyone wants to unlock the boot loader on their devices to fill the online application form for the first “deep test”.
In addition to filling the application form, consumers have to make sure that their devices are not affiliated with any operator’s projects or they have special enterprises or specific constructions related to the government. The OnePlus also notes that you can apply only once a once in 30 days to unlock the boot loader, which is still better than Xiaomi, which has recently restricted the number of applications to one year.

However, the announcement also offers a sense of relief. First, these requirements apply only to consumers in China, as they will only be implemented when their devices will be updated in Coloros 16, which is based on Android 16. It does not guarantee that OnePlus will not enforce the same steps around the world, though the support page makes it clear that the sanctions will not be applied to the previous version of Kalios. It will be beneficial for everyone who wants to breathe life in an old or unmarried One -Plus phone, though new phone users are unlikely to appreciate it.
One -Plus is also assuring users that opening the boot loader will not dismiss the phone’s warranty, unless they can return the device to the original firmware. Unless one can remember, it has been the company’s position.
Interestingly, this is not the first example when One Plus imposed restrictions on unlocking boot loader. More than six years ago, OnePlus declared some One Plus 6T users in the United States to fill requests to unlock the boot loader, and prevent them from doing immediately. However, it was implemented only on the equipment purchased in the contract with T -Mobile, which made the application process mandatory.
Nevertheless, the restrictions of the One -Plus, despite being limited to China, indicate the change in the development of the third -party for brands and Android devices for the development of the third -party, and it is especially disturbing to come from the brand that is debt to the customs ROM community.
