Google messages are slowly occupying Samsung and Pixel users’ screens

A new Google Messages Big Popup has gone, and while it is mostly harmless, it is a kind of disturbing.

The Big has copied the Google Messages icon, so now there are two apps of the app and the app in the app drawer. Both icons are located together, and one of them can be used to launch the application.

Interestingly, the app’s icon does not appear twice on domestic screens and in search results.

This problem affects Google Messages beta version 20250811_03_Rc00 and appeared on Pixel and Samsung devices.

The code at the Android Authority deepened the issue and found out what was happening. Apparently, this is the result of duplicate announcements by Google, which forcing the system to think that there are two apps for the display, though both icons open Google messages.

Users of a couple who install and install the app are now stuck with three icons. A user got out of the son and installed updates, and the extra icon disappeared.

I updated the app today, and there were two icons, I re -installed it and installed it again, and now there are three icons.

It looks like a harmless bug and does not affect the function’s functionality in any way. Google will potentially eliminate this problem with the next update, but for those who do not like the disorder interface and how their app drawers look about, this is definitely a problem. This is a negative aspect of admission to beta programs, however, and in general, people who sign up for them are accustomed to such problems.

If you can’t afford it, you want to return to the stable version of the Google Messages app.

Google regularly sends new features to its messaging app, and the latest information sometimes introduces bugs. For example, earlier this month, the beta version was a bug that caused it crash.

As we said, this is part of a beta experience, and if you want more stability, the beta program may not be for you.
