You may have heard the news so far: Windows 10 is about to reach the end of life on October 14, 2025.
If you are one of the counts among us that still use Windows 10, do not pressurize-if you turn it on after October 15, your copy of your Windows will not stop suddenly and will not destroy yourself.
However, the clock is collecting. Over time, your Windows PC is going to be a problem. After October, Microsoft claims that it will no longer offer tech support or security updates for Windows 10, so you want to do something soon rather than soon.

I know because I review Windows and Windows PC to live, so I’m following this story since Microsoft announced the death of Windows 10 for the first time. I also wrote my Windows 11 reviews, and I think it has done a lot since he debuted in 2021.
So if you are ready to upgrade to Windows 11, I will guide you in this process and give you the right set.
But if you are not ready to jump, you still have time to enjoy Windows 10. In fact, there are some ways to get important security patches from Microsoft for a year after killing the company.

Are not ready to abandon and upgrade Windows 11?
Good News: Microsoft is offering an extended security updates (ESU) program that will facilitate you to make Windows 10 security updates important for an additional year. The company is producing a new ESU Enrollment Wizard to Windows 10 users who will prepare you to join the ESU program so that your copy of your Windows 10 can continue critical updates after October 2025.
That’s right, if you enroll, you can give your copy of Windows 10 to be executed by October 13, 2016.
Microsoft has offered similar expansion programs during the last Windows upgrade period, but they are generally opening only for enterprise users and big business. This is the first time that the rest of us can enroll in such a program, and Microsoft is receiving $ 30 for you for privilege.

But paying is the only way you can avoid upgrading to Windows 11 for one year through ESU. There are two more options you can benefit from if you don’t pay:
Microsoft Points Pay: If you have at least 1,000 Microsoft Rewards Points disabled in Microsoft Rewards account, you can take them through the Windows 10 ESU Enrollment app in exchange for the latest updates of cash Windows 10.
If you don’t, it doesn’t take too long to earn them – for example, you can only get Microsoft’s 500 rewards points to download the Bing Smartphone app.
Back up your data on Microsoft’s servers: If you do not spend Microsoft Rewards points or real money, you can also qualify for your data and settings using the new Windows Backup app for the free year of Windows 10 extension security updates.
You can use this app to back up your data and settings in Microsoft’s One Drive servers. As default, each Windows 10 users get 5GB of free one -drive space, and it is possible to get more free offers by paying or taking advantage.
But even if you do not have enough space to back all your data, you can at least back up your Windows settings and whatever you can fit into the One Drive and still get a free year of Windows 10 ESU program updates. However, be aware that this means relying on Microsoft with your data.

Look, at any time you should cut the tablet and upgrade to Windows 11.
I didn’t even love it at first, but once I got the habit of visual re -design and some essential Windows 11 keyboard shortcuts, I was able to work very comfortably in the latest edition of Windows.
So if you want to go beyond things and upgrade to Windows 11 before Microsoft forcing you, you have to first confirm that Windows 11 system requirements are met to upgrade your PC. You can do this by using Microsoft’s PC Health Check app, which will tell you whether your computer can change or not.

If you are eligible to upgrade to Windows 11, I recommend backing up and upgrading your files immediately. To upgrade to Windows 11, you can back up your files using the free Windows Backup app or one of the best cloud backup services in the nearby, then press the Windows Update app (Start button and use “Windows Update” to find it).
If it doesn’t work, you can check our guide to how to upgrade Windows 11 to Windows 11. Once you upgrade, your computer will resume and you will live Windows 11 lifestyle.
If you do not have the quality, I’m afraid that you should probably review buying a new PC to jump in Windows 11. Although it was possible to install Windows 11 on the unauthorized PC (usually lack of TPM 2.0 modules) for some time, Microsoft has broken these flaws over the years as it works to make Windows 11 more secure.
So if your computer is very old to make a switch, I willly recommend you to upgrade my PC. Right now, the best Windows laptops in the market are amazing machines that are light, sharp and lasting than any Windows laptop in the past decade-and I should know, as I have been reviewing the laptop for about 15 years.
