The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is the next -generation non -foldable flagship smartphone, can get a significant ram upgrade. According to the report, the device can be equipped with 10.7Gbps LPDDR5x Ram, which was first announced by the South Korean Tech Dev’s semiconductor division in April 2024. It is said that the new Ram has increased the phone’s performance by 25 % while improving the power efficiency through the same percentage. It is expected that the Handset Galaxy S26 Pro and the Galaxy S26 Age model will be launched as well.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra can be more effective
According to a Samobile report (through the tipter @now deleted post), the Galaxy S26 ultra can be displayed with LPDR5X RAM with a 10.7 Gb PS data transfer speed. The drum was exposed by Samsung in April 2024. It was developed using 12nm process technology, making it the smallest chip size in the current LPDRR.
In the announcement post, Tech Dev has claimed that 10.7Gbps lpddr5x DRAM will improve performance more than 25 % and capacity by more than 30 % over the previous generation. In addition, it is also said that the power efficiency will be increased by 25 %.
While Smile claims that the Galaxy S26 ultra will be the first Samsung phone equipped with this chip set, a contradictory report by GS Emeraina claims that it was also used in the Galaxy S25 ultra. Since the company does not formally reflect the type of Ram, it is difficult to ensure that the matter is.
However, in the same announcement post, South Korean Tech Dev Dev mentions, “After confirming with the mobile application processor (AP) and mobile device providers, 10.7 GBPS LPDR 5X has to launch a mass production from the second half of the year.”
If this timeline is to be considered, 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X is not ready to be added to a device by the end of RAM 2024. Until then, the Galaxy S25 ultra is already very deep in the production phase, and it is unlikely to equip the new Ram. However, this is just a speculation, and certainly nothing can be said unless the company confirms it.
