I have recently returned from the Family Camping Trip for Cads Cove in Great Smoki Mountain National Park. I live in South Carolina, so in mid -July, the mountain journey is usually a great way to find cold temperatures. Not this year.
Thanks to this summer hat dome, I had a week feeling like the temperature was more than 100 degrees-and no air conditioning. I went into planning mode.
We were camping in our rockwood mini lights RV, which means we have access to the refrigerator or, power shops and water. But there were no electricity or water hook -ups in the camp ground, so we need our strength and some portable cooling.
Generally, you will expect an RV to provide them all. Not on this journey. When matters go wrong, camping can be dirty, and it is good that I review the gadget for livelihood, because I brought five that saved our holidays.
Our camping spot is in Cads Kovo at the National Park of Great Smoke Mountains. No hook -up for electricity or water means that we need to bring our strength.
Our camping was 10 miles from Towny’s small town of Tennessee, 10 miles away, in the western boundary of the smoke mountains in a vast valley Cads Coo. We reached a little after 9pm ET, which was too late to start our generator. When you can drive them due to noise, the camp grounds have a limit, so we turned into 12 RV’s 12 volts batteries.
Either we thought. There was something wrong with the trailer wiring that was connected to the battery system. We have to be creative in the next seven days of heat.
Save the Smart Gadget Number One: I pulled out the Govi Table Lamp 2 Pro X sound through JBL and placed it on the table in our RV. Large, battery -powered LED lamps provided enough light to open the pack, and, as a bonus, its speaker meant that when we were working, I could drive some lyrics on Bluetooth with my phone.
When we had to turn off the power, this guy portable Bluetooth speaker / lamp with the built -in battery was very easy.
Next, I set up a switchboat smart circulator fan. The flow of its degraded and powerful air created enough air to move the air through the RV, which was a sweat box after a seven -hour driving through Caroline and Tennessee in the flames.
Some light, one wind and music. Was watching things. A little bit
Without power, our RV fridge or stock with a week’s worth of food.
Without power, our RV fridge or stock with a week’s worth of food. At the same place, a portable power station came to rescue. I recently started testing the Eco Flow Delta Pro 3 for home backup power, and I brought it to see what I can use for it while camping.
One thought was to test how long it could strengthen RV’s air conditioning (unless we were to use unless we had full hook -up at the camp ground). Before leaving the house we fully charged both the main power station battery and its extension battery, and when we plug it into the trailer’s AC coastal power port, everything Silently The power was a great relief.
At this point, the use of eco flu for the trailer’s powerful air conditioner was off the table. We wanted its 4000 WH stored energy capacity to maximize. Therefore, it will only be entrusted to the main Electrics of the RV, which includes lights, outlets, 5 gallons of hot water heater, and refrigerators. We intended to do it with our gas generator (because I had no solar panel to recharge it, or more sun in the jungle).
This is the place where the portable fans I bought quickly when I predicted the first time.
Battery -driven fans to win! In the hot nights, two fans (left) and the switch boot fan (right) kept us cool.
My daughter, in the upper part, was quite the basic Konny Clip fan, which I had chosen for her clip on 20 and a decent 10,000 mAh battery. The $ 40 fans continued it easily overnight on a charge, running on a medium sequence. It was also for secret.
My son found a fans of this Koni camping, which had a buffalo built -in power bank to charge 16,000 mAh battery, bright orange color, and other devices. I primarily chose it for its integrated hook, which means that I can hang it upside down with a backed ladder. It is also suffering, built -in lights, and comes with remote control. He did a great job for him, but it was a little noise on his highest order. In the middle of the night I woke up thinking that someone had left his generator.
Eco Flu lasted us for almost seven hours, which is enough to get us at night.
I set up a switchboat fan for my husband and me. He made a joke on my insistence on packing it. This is not compact, and when it has a handle and works on a battery or AC power, it is nowhere near the portable like other fans. But we slept badly without it, which my husband accepted beautifully after the first night.
The fan base can rotate 90 degrees, and the fan can move vertically, which allows it to rotate the air, and help keep the entire area comfortable without the dryness of your fans’ blast. It is very calm, its built -in LED, and I can control it with my phone on Bluetooth.
1/3The Eco Flow Delta Pro 3 is directly connected to the power port of our trailer to strengthen its power system.
The next morning, the Eco Flow was only 10 %. I was surprised that despite a relatively light load in our RV, it continued for only 12 hours and obviously we did not run the air conditioners. But later I learned that since we were using AC power and not DC, the inverter consumption is quite high in such a large power station.
My husband set up a gas generator to recharge the Eco Flu. Six six hours and two gallons of gas were charged to 90 %, where we stopped because we need to turn on electricity.
My best (matte pin) bear shot – this is the one for whom we were here!
It turns out that we cannot charge with the Eco Flow and can not strengthen the trailer at the same time. It was a lot of draws on our small Honda Generator (now non -disconnected EU2000i). We could not charge the Eco Flow Power Station while the extra battery was attached, as it gave Honda even more burden.
It is possible that we could reduce the charging input range of the Eco Flu using the app, but before I went to the middle of the mountains, I did not research it, and without any Wi -Fi and cell service, we were out of fate.
Therefore, we removed the extension battery and set up a generator to charge the main ecosome during the day when we were wearing a bike of 11 miles of cads Koo Loop, the detection of waterfalls, trail rides, hiking from smoking, and more than we can find.
Without its extra battery pack, the Eco Flow lasted for almost seven hours, which is enough to enter us mostly at night – cooling the refrigerator and running fans. When he died, the fans fell back to their batteries, so we stayed cool till morning.
We continued this cycle for the rest of the journey, and it really did a good job, which allows us to focus on enjoying our family time rather than fighting the elements.
Yes, we would have survived without any power. We were all camping after all, but with the help of a gas generator, the five battery -powered devices were ensured that it was a family trip to remember for the right reasons.
