Although smartphones have changed a lot on the same formula, there is a wide variety of smart watch/band/color/etc. Devices out there. And the results of last week’s survey are quite interesting.
Most of our readers who use smart wear have an Apple Watch. We are confident that most of our readers have Android phones, but apparently, they do not use smart wearing.
On the side, the wearing OS is amazingly low – almost half the popularity of Apple’s watches watches. Other advanced smart watch platforms (such as Huawei) are far more popular than a platform that mainly supports Google and Samsung.
Here is another result that we didn’t expect – smart bands are more popular than basic smart watchs. Unlike their wear OS/Watchos counterparts, basic smart watches mainly offer the same functionality, such as smart bands.
Their only real advantage is aesthetics – if you want a round clock on your wrist. Some smart bands offer excellent battery life despite small batteries and they are cheap and small in the boot.
Smart ringing is a very new category, so they are still a blink on the radar, as is expected. It will be interesting to see how it changes in the next few years.
Another important way to wear smart is different from smartphones – people have no rush to upgrade them. In the second vote, more than half of the voters will be able to wear them this year.
We set up a relatively short -time frame, asking about upgrading plans this year. But reading through comments, it is clear that many watches/bands use 3, 4 or even 5 years old. Smartphone upgrades are getting longer, but they are not yet at this level.
This year, only 7 % of voters will be buying their first smart, which shows that the market is going on – everyone who wanted, is already one. Of course, our audiences are mostly lover than most, so it is not surprising to buy more in the tech gadget.
