The concept of a large, invisible planet or planets in the most remote areas of our solar system is already known before the discovery of Pluto in the 1930s. In fact, the “planet X” has been named, it suggested to calculate the irregularities in the orbit of the Uranus. This mystery was eventually resolved by re -counting Neptune. But in 2016, Calte’s astronomer Constantin Bategen and Mike Brown resurrected the puzzle with a new ideology – the planet -nine – which was based on the strange orbit of the quapper belt objects. The explanation is that a huge planet is pulling these items with gravity.
The matter of planet nine
According to the observations of Bitgin and Brown, many keeper belt items do not travel on orbit as expected. This shows that, like the moon (which is due to the gravity of the earth’s apparent spiral from the earth), these distant things are somehow disturbed by anything other than our sun. It is believed that the planet is several times higher than the size of the nine -earth and the neptune rotates. Assistant evidence is the discovery of the recently found trans -naptinine objects that can be manufactured by a major planet with the elliptical orbit (such as 2017 of 2010).
In 2024, Brown confirmed confidence in the theory, “There is no other explanation about the effects we see currently.” More trans -naptinin discoveries continue to point to an unknown gravity force.
Challenges and new indicators
However, the ideology is facing obstacles. Other astronomers claim that there are not enough data on the Cooper Belt to guarantee the planet. Other alternative explanations suggest, such as debris ring or even more foreigners like small black holes. There is little time to observe. From our planet to orbit, these items need tens of thousands of years.
Recent investigations, such as Cidnide 2023’s Q14 – is so long that it looks stable in the empty solar system – this scenario makes even more complicated. If the planet is out, it can be at least 500 AU away from the sun. In the meantime, astronomers continue to find these large, remote edges of our solar system using ground and space -based binoculars.
