YouTube is eventually bringing one of his best premium Perks to the big screen. The ‘Jump ahead’ feature, which lets you go to the most exciting part of a video, is now on the YouTube TV app. The first year was launched for the web and mobile, its absence on TV was a significant mistake, especially since half of all YouTube users watch on their television.
I found a change on my Nvidia Shield TV in early today. When I pressed my remote’s fast forward button during a particular part of a video, instead of moving 10 seconds as usual, the app automatically “proceeded.” A message was published in the top right corner, which notes that it is “jumping on the part of the abandonment”, automatically takes me to the most re -run section.

This is the same ‘jump ahead’ feature that YouTube developed on mobile and web last year. The service uses AI and viewing data to identify this section of the video, which most viewers move forward, then offers premium users with a button to advance this segment.
On TV, the experience is slightly different. Instead of a dedicated button, a dot appears on the video’s progress bar to identify the most common skip point. Re -taping your remote fast forward key will automatically reach the video.
Although the YouTube support page confirms that this feature is now available on the “living room” (alias TV) devices, the rollout scope is unclear. I’ve just seen this in another user report, so if you have seen the ‘Jump forward’ feature on your TV YouTube app, tell us in the comments below!
