Another user has reported a fire that catching its Pixel 6A – but this time, it seems that Google’s recent battery performance update has happened, which was aimed at preventing high heat cases, as it was seen by it. Android Authority. In a post on the Reddate, a Pixel 6A user says he woke up with a “horrible smell and a loud noise”, when he charged his device on the fire, charging above the night stand.
The Reddater says that when the phone’s screen and the case were melted, the device for the steam deck was plugged in 45W charger. “The phone was sitting less than 40 cm from my head at my night stand on my night stand,” the phone said in the post. “The sheets were trapped on the fire. My AC (a floor unit) was damaged by the fire at its surface. I suffer from smoke all day in my throat.”
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Earlier this year, after several reports of the Pixel 6A fire, Google released an essential software update designed to reduce battery capacity and charging performance after 400 charge cycles. Google also offered free battery replacement for qualified devices. This Redit user says he applied the mandatory update, but he did not replace his battery because he did not have the walk -in alternative options in his country and he could only mail his device.
