If you are fully aware of the Meta Ray Ben-Brand smart glasses, it will not be a surprise when it comes to its latest okley frames. Okley meta glasses relies heavily on what is already a successful playboy for the company: A famous iPare brand style is mixed with Joost Coffee Tech to allow you to keep your pocket a little longer.
But Okley meta glasses are also the first cooperation of the social media company with the non -ray Ban brand (though both are involved in a parent company in Eselurloxotica). And while the meta is very close to the strategy that it has been used for the past four years, its latest frames offer some indications about its long -term ambitions in space.
Meta describes its Okley branded frames as “Performance Glasses”, which is not a surprise to the Okale’s long -standing commitment to athletes. But there are only a few original upgrades compared to the Ray Bankup. Okley meta glass has a significant life of battery, for both glasses and charging case. They are also able to capture a high quality video than the previous version.
With an initial price of about $ 400, though, I am not sure the cost of these upgrades is $ 100 – $ 200.

Why do they look like this?
Okley branded glass meta meta first pair of brand HSTN (which is announced on the frames of Stone) and nothing is really right about this design. The first of these is a limited edition version that has shiny gold lenses and bright white frames (which is called Meta “hot gray”).
Like the previous Ray Ben model, they also do not look clearly, but I was still not a big fan of this design. The glass felt a bit bigger for my face and reminds me of a bug about something about a bright white couple with gold lenses. The colorful scroll also highlights how fat the frames are, especially around the strange wide nose.

I posted a selfie on my Instagram story and polled my friends on what they thought. And while some politely said that they think I’m “pulling them”, the majority said they look great for my face. Some people told me that they look strange straight, and one summarized my emotions with “something about them.” Certainly style style is sabotage. And depending on the shape and tolerance of your face, I can see others enjoying the design. I look forward to seeing the rest of the HSTN collection, which is coming at the end of this summer, and hopefully it will have some more flattery variations.
On one side, the glasses introduced in 2023 work equally near the glass meta. The left eye has a 12 -megapixel POV camera, and on the right is an indicator light that takes your picture or starts recording the video through the capture button. There are open ear speakers in the arms to hear the music and hear the information. Like glasses, speaking here is very good at overcoming sounds so you can’t hear others when you are listening to the lower skin, but it is definitely high levels. You can easily control music playback and volume, however, with a touchpad on the right side of the glass.
“Performance” upgrade
Okley is the most important upgrade battery coming with glasses. Meta claims that glasses can continue for eight hours for “normal” (non -permanent) use and 19 on standby. I managed to squeeze the music playback for more than five hours out of the battery in the same seat, which is better an hour than ray bean frames. According to Meta, the charging case can provide additional run time for up to 48 hours. More than a week has passed and I have not yet had to plug in this matter.
The charging case, however, is significantly larger and heavy than the Ray Bean case. This is not a Dell Breaker, but the matter is very big for any of my pockets and only barely fits in my small sling bag. In my second grip with the charging case, I have the same complaint that I had about the Ray Bean case: There is no way to see the charge level of this case. There is a small LED in the front that will turn from green to yellow based on the battery level, but this is rarely a exact indicator.

The second major upgrade is 12 MP camera, which can now shoot 3K on previous models compared to 1080p. High resolution video, in particular, is not a default sequence, but I appreciate the option. I can see that this is especially useful for creators wanting to shoot POV footage, but I still use glasses for shots instead of video.
San Francisco is currently having a cold weather, so most of my testing has been in cloudy conditions. This may produce a brown weather, but I have found images that I have shot with glasses that are a bit more than a limit for my taste. However, they looked right on the Instagram story. The camera has a slightly wide angle with 100 degrees Field of View, so there is still a bit of learning curved letters to find out how to frame shots.
Another problem is that it is very easy to do with a hat or a hair piece not to understand it in your pictures. My previous experience with Ray Ben Meta Glasses meant that I was cautious to pull my hair back before snatching the picture, but after a long motorcycle ride, I was forced to realize that the Websar on my helmet sees every photo and video frame. It seems as if Meta may have a plan to solve it: I saw a setting called “Media Quality”, which means that when something is partially becoming obstructed in the camera, you have to inform you. The feature is still examining, though, and it was not useful. However, a Meta spokesperson confirmed that it would be included in the future updated. “Media Quality Check is a feature that we are working to bring in a collection of AI glasses in the future that will inform consumers when there is a photo fog, or if something like your hair stops your arrest,” Meta said.

However, the Meta AI app (known as MetaView) can help fix other issues. It has a “smart crop” feature that can automatically straighten your pictures to correct any head tilt. It has also built AI -powered amendments for photos and videos so that you can restore your clips directly to the app. And while the functionality is not limited to clips shot with glasses only, the possibility of modifying AI after reality makes the worldly clips a bit more attractive. According to the Meta AIP, the ability to restart the video is only “free for a limited time”.
Although the main features of Meta’s smart glasses remain the same as it has introduced Ray Bean’s stories for the first time in 2021, another interesting change is how Mark Zuckerberg and other executives have transmitted them to “Smart Glass” by “AI Glass”. Since the company has been withdrawn from the metawar and has focused the AI to the central focus, it is not surprising that those topics will also be able to wear it.
And while none of the features of Meta AI are unique to Okley frames, Meta has added some of the abilities since my last review. The first is a direct translation. This feature, which you have to enable in the Meta AIApp, allows the ship’s assistant to translate the speech as soon as he heard it. If there is a meta -glass pair on both sides of a conversation, you can have a full conversation even if you do not speak the same language. This feature currently supports Spanish, French, Italian and English.

I tried her with my husband – a local Spanish speaker who was also wearing a meta glass dress – and we were both impressed. I will say something in English and Meta Ai will send her to her in Spanish. He then responds in Spanish and will translate Meta Ai words into English.
This is not the most natural way to speak because you have to wait and wait for a translation, but it was mostly effective. However, there were some bugs. Since we were sitting close to each other, Sometimes Meta Ai listened to and translated the audio translated from the other person’s glasses, which caused the whole thing to feel like a strange telephone game.
And during several minutes of conversation, there were a handful of times when Meta Ai would not raise whatever was said, or would start translating half a way through just one statement. When we talked about the slag or regional changes of some words, we also had some problems with the translations of Meta AI. Although it was not perfect, I could see it useful while traveling because it is much more smooth than the use of Google Translate. It was also very entertaining to listen to my husband’s words, with the sound of Ai Judy Danch with me (Meta tapped a group of celebrities to help her AI last year).

The second largest AI increase is something called “direct AI”, which is primarily a real -time version of glass multi -modal powers. Once you start directly AI sessions, Meta’s auxiliary is able to “see” everything you are seeing and you can ask questions without saying “Hey Meta” repeatedly. For example, you can see the plants and ask them to identify them, or ask about signs or your surroundings.
The feature can feel a bit clever and it doesn’t always work on the way you want. For example, Meta AI can indicate signs but it cannot help you find them. During a motorcycle ride, I asked if this could help me go somewhere on the intersection that I was, and Meta Ai replied that she was unable to help the navigation. During a walk in San Francisco’s plant gardens, he did not even properly identify some (foreign) plants. But he told me with help that I wanted to keep my distance from a packet of gazes on my way.
I am not yet fully convinced what problems are to solve this type of multi -modal features, but I think it offers an interesting window on how Meta is taking its smart glasses as AI First Product. Whenever we get a version of meta -glass with a real display, it also opens up some interesting possibilities, which are recommended for a rumor mill this year.

Although I do not love the style of Okley Meta HSTN frames, Meta has shown that it has been permanently successful in improving its glasses. The upgrades that come with the new Okale frames are not a big jump, but they improve the basic features. Whether it justifies the upgrade price, though, it relies heavily on how you plan to use glasses.
The special edition I have experienced HSTN frames is 9 499 and the second version will start at $ 399 later this year. Considering that you can only get a number of Meta Ray Ben Glass models in 9 299, I am not sure that the upgrade justifies the extra cost for most people. Perhaps this is why Meta has positioned her as a “performance” model that is good for players and Okale’s loyalists.
But glasses offer a clear picture of where the meta is going with its smart glasses. We know that the company is planning to include the display and eventually, plans to add fully capabilities of reality – both of them will benefit from battery life and cameras. Both are likely to cost more than the frame we have seen so far. But, if you don’t want to wait, Okley Meta glasses are closest to you now.
