Yesterday’s leaked render surfaced, showing the new charging mechanism of the upcoming Google Pixel Watch 4, and it is safe to say that we have received many intestinal reactions here. Android Authority. “From… interesting” “I strongly dislike it”, a clear “I hate it”, my colleagues’ thoughts were not so positive, but I took a look at it and … liked it?! I think
It cannot be denied that this contradiction looks strange and in recent years we have seen that most of the smart watch chargers. It certainly does not resemble Pixel Watch 1, 2, or 3 charger I have used, nor does it look like galaxy watch, OnePlus Watch, or Apple Watch Chargers. But with this new design, many pure positives, and some clear negatives also come.
What do you think about the side charger of Pixel Watch 4?

Charging a pixel watch is terrible. It can fix it
Whenever I have tried to charge my Pixel Watch (1, 2, or 3) on its charger, I have taken a real snatch. Clock, with a added rubber band, does not really like to be flat on any level. It has a tendency to bend. If I am in a hurry, the clock will flop towards it, the cable is sticking. It looks so strange and unstable that I turn back the clock on its display to ensure that the cable is placed and does not end with a wrong indicator.
I am not resting my glass clock at any level, even I have a seemingly clean desk-who knows how many dust particles are hiding there-but this face is now the most stable way to charge the pixel watch for three generations. And if you have another piece, a nine -bull watch band, such as a pixel watch stretch band, is practically the only way you can charge your watch every day without separating the strap.
I always went out to charge my pixel clock with its screen, but at the same time end up with it or flop on my desk.
The rumor Pixel Watch 4’s side charger has fixed the design. The clock will no longer have to lie, which it cannot do, nor will it return to its screen. It can stand along the edge and keep it stable because the charger puts it in its place. I appreciate this improvement.
Side charger has more benefits

Bring more benefits to Pixel Watch 4 by converting to side charger. One of you, you no longer have to buy a third party dock. Charger Is Dock; This watch is designed to stop it instead of laying flat. So this is a savings of -20 10-20 for people who buy postage for their smart watch.
Two, the watch display is visible when charging, and you can configure it to face it. The leaked render also shows that Google has finally set up an auto rotate on the charging screen, so you can eventually see the time and percentage in the right orientation. (People who bought postage for previous Pixel Watch models know the struggle of the Side Veys charging screen, as shown in the above photo.)
The side charger can be an excellent dock, turns the clock into a secondary shiny display, and makes it more repaired. Isn’t love?
So you can use this setup as a bedside clock if you charge your watch when you go to bed or keep an eye on it during the day when it is on your desk. Perhaps my biggest pet offer with the current Pixel Watch 3 is that I leave it on the charger for a long time-more because I lie down the screen and can’t see what percentage it is-so seeing the charge level should help me remove the charger soon.
Three, the leaked render shows the upcoming alarm, so I am interested in knowing whether Google has implemented more tasks on the charging screen. Will we see the timer? A reminded information counter? Music playback? However, Google wear is always making the display more useful on OS 6, so it can also borrow these modifications for the charging screen.
Finally, and most importantly, this new charging mechanism should make the pixel watch more repaired than its predecessors. The previous Pixel Watch model was mainly intended for Land Phil when something went wrong because it was impossible to open and repair them because of their charging pins. Moving the pins to the side seems to fix it.
Although, I am not fully sold on this new charger

I can’t really believe that in four years, Google is already getting ready to change the charging mechanism of Pixel Watch three times. This is incredibly contradictory, especially when you consider that the Apple Watch Series 10 is still compatible with the first charger of Apple Watch since 2015. And we wonder why we can’t have good accessories in the Android/Pixel world!
I am sure that every devices maker is now throwing his hands in the air and wondering if it is worth returning to the drawing board and making another new set of 2 -1 or 3 -in -1 chargers for third -party chargers, pics, and Pixel Watch 4. At the same time, it will take three years to make a decent 3-in-1 charger for the Pixel Eco system. Meanwhile, appliance brands have been chargers, docks, pits and standing for Apple Watch for 10 years, and they still work with the latest model.
Not to mention e -West … Google can’t tell me that it is worried about the planet and then for the third time in four years, an irrelevant and destined proprietary chargers and cables for the trash cans for the third time! It is unconscious.
It is a passion for changing the charging mechanism of Pixel Watch three times in four years. Both third -party accessories and Google’s green measures should cry.
I also preserve decisions on this new charger unless I use it. Will it be quite stable, or will the clock end? Will it charge it quickly and eliminate the heat well, or will we return to the slow and warm charging problem of the first generation pixel watch?
And finally, I’m definitely not a fan of adopting another proprietary charging approach to Google. I wish we had a global standard for smart watches, as we do with the USB-C for phones. And in the absence of it, I want Google to separate the charging puck from the cable as One Plus has done with Watch 3. It produces less e-waste, allowing me to use any USB-C cable that I have to charge from Pixel Watch 4, which includes fewer cables for low dirt on my desk and easy to carry in my bag.
We will learn more about all this coming on August 20 when Google officially announced its new watch 4, so by then, I can only hope that Google has thought about the change in charging as much as it has worked on its positives. Very little, separate the charger and cable, Google; This is the only logical move here.
