Google has announced that it has signed a global trade partnership with a startup energy dome in Milan and has also invested in its long -term energy storage (LDES) tech of renewable energy. This contract, its first investment in LDES tech, uses the energy dome’s carbon dioxide battery to grid that powers Google work worldwide. Batteries are used to maintain additional energy generated by renewable sources, such as solar and wind, peak production and when demand is low. But lithium -ion batteries can only store and send energy to the squares for hours or less.
The Energy Dome explained that its CO2 battery can store and send energy permanent for 8 to 24 hours, so Google can dependent on renewable strength even when there is no wind or sun. Its technology uses carbon dioxide placed inside the dome -shaped batteries, which you can see in the above image. When excessive renewable energy is produced, batteries use this strength to suppress carbon dioxide gas into the liquid inside them. And when this energy is needed, the liquid spreads into hot gas under carbon dioxide pressure. She rotates the gas turbine and produces energy that is returned to the grid for a period of time.
Google said the energy dominated technology has the potential to “make” very fast commercials “compared to other clean -tech investment, and aims to” bring this technology on a rapid scale and at a lower cost. ” It also states that it believes that its investment in partnership and energy dome can help achieve its goal of working at 24/7 by 2030.
