- Google is launching a new AI -powered “Call Message” feature that works directly and summarized as a device voicemail.
- This feature operates offline without using data or Wi -Fi, and it is likely that Gemini is strengthened by Nano.
- As many AI includes debuts with new Google’s new pixel phones, the call message can be a pixel 10 special launch next month.
Google already packs its pixel phones with a group of smart calling features such as call screening, directly to my call, hold for me, and call notes. These features have been strengthened to make the handling calls easier and less disturbing by AI. Now, it seems that Google Calling is developing another new feature that can take things to the next level. An AI -powered voicemail system that works fully on your device does not require the Internet.

An AP tear down helps predict the features that can reach a service -based code on the future. However, it is possible that such predators do not make it public release.
By inspecting the latest beta version of the phone by the Google App (version 184.0.785204977-PUBLICBETA-Pixel2024), we got a feature named “Call message.” Based on the hidden wire in the app, this feature allows your phone to take messages for memorable or rejected calls. Even on your device, Spam can filter calls, copy and summarize everything.
If someone calls you and you don’t answer, your phone will ask them to leave the message. This message is copied using AI (most likely Gemini Nano), and you can see audio, summary and transcript in the Relits tab. The whole process will be locally on your device because the feature does not use Wi-Fi or mobile data. However, if your phone is out of the network or out of it, the call message will not work, and your carrier’s voice mail will handle it as usual.
Extra code Dore we get when calling in call message (Code name Backley):
- When the call is missed, the backley will be activated.
- It is also dynamic when you manually reject a call from a response screen or a notification.
- Even if you reject the call of your attached OS Watch, Basley will still start recording the message on your phone.
- A notification will confirm that the Beasley is taking a message.
Can a call message be pixel 10 special?
Next month, a strong opportunity call message can begin as a Pixel 10 when the new phone begins. This feature code name, “Basley”, follows Google’s specific sample for pixel features only. Past AI tools such as Hold for Me and Directive My Call also had unique internal coden names during the development, and many people made special stay with Pixel.
Even more telling is the app version number where we discovered this feature. The “Pixel 2024” tag clearly indicates a blood for pixel devices launched in 2024. Google often uses these tags when the pixel first tests the first features. Perhaps Google will already release the call message as a pixel 10, but will also add it to other pixel phones at some point. It is also fully possible that this feature will take longer to be solid and it will take longer to release later as part of a future pixel drop.
If the call message seems a bit familiar, this is because it is similar to Apple’s direct voicemail feature.
Finally, since this feature appears to be relying on Gemini nano, which is only available on selected devices, it is understandable to show Google as part of a special AI experience of Pixel 10.
If the call message seems a bit familiar, the reason is that it is similar to Apple’s direct voicemail feature, which allows users to see the real -time copy of the message when they are leaving someone as they speak. However, it seems that the Google version goes a step further by not only copying but also offering a summary. The Apple version also works on the device, which looks like Google is being affected.
